No, but it is a powerful motivator if you think the direction of the country is going the wrong way, which is on the list of Trump/GOP grievances. I think most voters understand the pretty binary choice they have going forward; especially if the GOP aligns itself with Trump. That will likely push GOP/Independent voters who may not like Biden/Democrats but find Trump even worse leaning to the Democrats. A lot will depend on where the economy and the mood in the country is as elections kick up.

If the economy rebounds and people are feeling optimistic, it won't bode that well for the GOP/Trump if all they have to offer are grievances and culture war issues. Granted, those are pretty strong motivators, but more limited to ardent supporters than your average voter who just wants some sense of normal.

That remains to be seen, but the economy will likely be bouncing back over the next year or so and if the pandemic is brought under control it will only be the fringe who will push that narrative.

We want a secure border immigration limits free speech we want a leader who doesn't talk to the press ignores the mess he has already made. We want to put our country first.

I agree it should and will be. The problem is that GOP obstruction will keep Biden's and the Democrat's actions and accomplishments to a minimum. I think the lies will win out, look how well they've been and still are working. Maybe some moderates, but we can forget about the GOP base catching on about just say no, they couldn't figure out how to get out of a paper bag.

I believe the only way the Democrats could have an impact large enough for Americans to see major changes in their lives, to actually see roads being built, voting rights restored, a restored commitment to science and truth in government, a minimum wage of $15 and confronting the rise of populists, nationalists, and demagogues around the world rather kowtowing to them like they're your friend.

The only way these goals will happen is if the Democrats start playing hardball, including ending the Jim Crow filibuster and adding two additional justices to the Supreme Court. It's sad, this is the time to act, how many years before they'll have this opportunity again?? If they don't take advantage of this now, nothing will change in America, unless the Trumpists take power.

America gets what it deserves. I'm thinking about Sanders now as a protest vote because I may not vote for another Democrat again. Democrats might know what needs to change and how to change it, but they lack the gumption to do it. The Repubs won't hesitate...

Actions or lies as I've said before, which do you choose? The dems need to get an infrastructure bill passed that will create jobs, jobs, jobs. Pass that first, get people working again with jobs that pay a living wage not ten dollars an hour. When americans see actions happening, lies won't work real well. The gop can come out with all the doom and gloom they wish but if actions are proving them wrong, they're in trouble.

It's already becoming a contrast between the competence of Trump administration people and the incompetence of Biden administration replacements. It's most notable at the southern border where holding centers built by the Obama administration are overwhelmed. Fortunately, there were effective procedures developed over the last four years and the flood is starting to thin. The point remains that it is Trump era methods that are working.

Blah blah blah. That's what right wingers - or at least those who ultimately became Trumpists - have promised for every Democrat candidate in decades. Yet the economies improved greatly under the last Democrat presidents. In Obama's case, it recovered from a massive mortgage-finanace bubble that only became the huge finance bubble it was because of GOP deregulation. In Biden's case, it has been and will continue to be recovery from a pandemic made far worse than it had to be by a mixture of Trump's incompetence and malevolence.

But oh yeah...Biden's going to ruin things.

Trump, the guy whose response to a deadly virus was to promise it would magically go away, while doing things behind the scenes like killing a mass testing plan because he thought he'd benefit if blue staters died so he could blame their governors....he'd have fixed the things he's broken.

Yeah, right, whatever.

Absolutely true. You despise, and make no bones about the GOP, and that DOESN”T change the truth that Biden is leading us down a slipperly slope of economic and civil distruction. The truth that NOTHING he has proposed or done will make life better for a vast majority of Americans; the only ones benifiting are CRT charlatans, LW ivory tower policy wonks who couldn’t run a paper route let alone a multi-trillion dollar economy, and self-aggrandizing politicians gathering power at all costs.

Dems need to remind voters of Mitch's promise of a blockade. If they want Progress vote Dems. if you don't want progress just obstruction vote for the GOP and its former lunatic leader.
