New York Democrats fear looming political 'disaster' over migrant crisis: 'Ticking time bomb'

I mean the left/liberals really are all twisted up here - on the one saying they're all seeking asylum but on the other hand, they're here working hard, doing jobs American's wont, and such a benefit to our society ! AND places like NYC ? they're a "ticking time bomb" for all these fantastic workers?

which is it ?
Wow.

You really don’t understand this issue at all, do you?

You put all Conservatives into the radical category while omitting the radical Democrats from a similar comparison. How about explain to us why the border issue is meaningless, out of sight out of mind?

Yes, I will put Trump supporters in the “category“ created by his warped beliefs.

How about you explain why your hero’s plan of bombing Mexico is supposed to make anything better?

With comments like this you show why the left has no credibility and simply seeks attention

I can tell you it's not the false dichotomy you've presented. The challenges are around finding migrants shelter while they wait for their hearings, which can take quite some time. Not having the ability to work legally while they wait is also a problem, and should be fast tracked. The "ticking time bomb" was from the article, and not anything NYC officials have stated.

Border Crisis: CBP’s Response

- June 30, 2023

By the hundreds of thousands, Central American families and children without their parents migrated to the southwest border. They were pushed by the threat of violence and by economic hardships.

In previous decades, the U.S. government built Border Patrol stations on the Southwest border for agents to quickly process and remove adult males from Mexico, which was the predominant demographic apprehended by agents. In 2019, agents apprehended mostly families and unaccompanied children from Central America, a demographic that pushed stations over capacity do to requirements for children in custody.

“Our Border Patrol facilities … were not designed to hold families or children,
” Acting Commissioner Morgan said in another news conference earlier in October. “They were designed as police stations. And because of that, because of the new demographic of families and children, those resources became strained, and our limited resources had to be diverted from their law enforcement duties, securing the border, to address the humanitarian crisis

Various media and government sources have identified a number of drivers for this unprecedented migration across the region. Push factors include violence, insecurity and famine in various parts of the Northern Triangle countries of Central America.

DHS also implemented new Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), whereby certain foreign individuals entering or seeking admission to the U.S. from Mexico – illegally or without proper documentation – may be returned to Mexico and wait outside of the U.S. for the duration of their immigration proceedings. The initiative effectively ended “catch and release.” As a result of MPP and stepped up enforcement efforts in Mexico, border apprehensions and inadmissible cases along the Southwest border declined dramatically for the last four months of the fiscal year.

“The daily [enforcement actions] in May were almost 6,000,” Acting Commissioner Morgan said during the Oct. 29 news conference. “Today, it’s gone drastically down, but it’s still 1,400 apprehensions per day. That’s still at crisis levels. We’re not out of the woods yet.”

New temporary holding facilities designed for families and children, additional CBP officers and Border Patrol agents deployed to the border, military support, money from Congress, and new agreements struck with Mexico and Central American countries to curb illegal immigration from flowing north all aligned to address the crisis. Numbers dropped from the high of nearly 145,000 apprehensions and those deemed inadmissible in May, to a four-month low of 52,000 by the last month of the fiscal year.

You seem to be delusional about the border situation. We're talking about the disaster that Biden caused, so stop spewing your misinformation and trying to change the topi

"Various media and government sources have identified a number of drivers for this unprecedented migration across the region. Push factors include violence, insecurity and famine in various parts of the Northern Triangle countries of Central America."

1) According to the US Customs and Border Protection website, migration from the Northern Triangle countries of Central America is being driven by violence, insecurity and famine - given the past history of those seeking immigration at the US-Mexico border, independent information sources have concluded that this upsurge is the result of these factors exerting pressure that have now reached unprecedented levels!
- Conclusions from independent sources, not President Biden!

2) US Customs and Border Protection has observed that not only has there been a dramatic increase in the number of immigrants at the southern border, but after decades of predominantly males seeking access, there has been a demographic shift to families, women and children - accompanied and unaccompanied!
- President Biden not responsible for this shift in demographics!

3) Given this recent upsurge of migrants from Central Americans, combined with the significant increases in the numbers of women and children, strongly suggests that economic betterment may no longer represent the overriding factor that attracts individuals to cross the border - it now appears that personal safety and security concerns for families have reached crisis levels!
- President Biden and the federal government can provide assistance and training, bit ultimately these are sovereign nations!

4) As noted by the US Customs and Border Protection, their staffing and facilities were designed to accommodate a predominantly male population, who were motivated by economic factors to improve the lives of themselves and their families, who remained at home in their native country - obviously that strategy has fundamentally changed, reflecting a loss of confidence that national and local authorities are capable of addressing personal safety problems, including the spread, corruption and violence associated with the "drug cartels!"

5) "Anthony60" will be glad to know that since the "Biden Administration's" introduction of the new "Migration Protection Protocols (MPP)," whereby "catch and release" is no longer in effect, US Customs and Border Protection has recorded that daily apprehension rates have dropped from 6,000 to 1,400 and that the market for border smugglers has been seriously undermined!

New York Democrats obviously do not fear anything because Faux Noise never tells the truth.

So, you are claiming that Biden is going to finish the entire wall? Gee, thanks for "educating" me on that, LOL! Don't quit your day job.
I claimed nothing. Quit inventing what you think people say or mean, and try thinking for yourself. You're not very good at this.

Wow.

Typically, the Trump crowd only sees this through the lens of their fear and bigotry.

Fear and hatred of non white people seem to be the outer limit of their understanding.

I thought they were all here working jobs American's don't want and contributing to our country in a positive way ?

Now you're telling me they're all NOT working ? Which is it ?

So there is a labor gap across a wide variety of industries in typically low paying jobs that have not been filled well after the pandemic ended. We have a large amount of migrants who can fill those jobs, but the process for receiving a work permit in the US can take quite some time (over a year in some cases), which is why I've said this process should be expedited.

Now you're telling me they're all NOT working ? Which is it ?
Some already are, but not legally, which is the problem. In NYC, some migrants managed to get themselves e-bikes so they can work doing food delivery jobs. The problem that presented is many of the places they're being sheltered don't have places to store those bikes, so they're left on the street in commercial areas and become a nuisance.

I say bus another 500,000 of these legally here people to NYC and LA and let these cities enjoy all the benefits

Deal ?
Great. And transfer the federal monies that are given to the border states to handle it.

why do they need money ?

these are hard working people doing the jobs American's don't want

right ?

It’s not my fault Trump and conservatives’ policies would only make things worse 😂
Where is the data supporting that claim? seems far too many are civics challenged having no idea what cities and states responsibilities are

Gee, just look at the floods of refugees sparked by wars such as Syria and Ukraine for a case in point bud.

Don's see Syrians or Ukrainians crossing the Rio Grande

If you honestly don’t understand that starting a war with Mexico would massively increase the number of refugees...that is your problem.
