New Covid variant allegedly coming back

People also die from flus but we don't force flu shots on people.
It's a balancing act. WITH all the measures, the required vaccines and the rest, over a million Americans were killed by Covid. It would have been a lot more if treated like the flu, if you had your way.

No you won't . :) I tried to do that last year. They won't give you both at the same time. That is because if you have a reaction, they will what shot you had the reaction to.
It might also be because they interfere with each other. But he didn't say he'd get them together, he said different times.

Baloney.

Ah, crap. You're right.

If you think I am engaging in falsehood, there is not much I can say.
I do wonder, however, what reason do you think I would have to lie about something like that. And why would you think that reason was my motive rather than just assume I was trying to
give a heads up to a fellow poster?

Do you generally assign the worst motive possible to people you do not know?

This kind of response is why I typically don't respond to people like you. So smugly superior and all-knowingly judgmental.

But no, the reason why I didn't feel a need to get a Covid shot was because I had a serious hospitalization incident with the Flu when I was 5 years old. I recovered and have never caught either a cold or a version of the Flu since. I had no need of a vaccination.

Now, back to permanent tagline time you go. (n):coffee:
Struck a nerve, did I? Well, I don't pretend to be all-knowing, but I do know that covid is not a strain of influenza and getting the flu sixty ****ing years ago in no way helps your body defend itself against covid.

Your response also simply doesn't address the attitude problem. Getting a vaccine makes people less worried, not more worried. So, run off and feel smugly superior.

There's no "allegedly." I know people who have gotten sick from the current wave.

I had five vaccines administered last winter/spring. Covid, Flu, Pneumonia, Shingles.

As I recall, I had the Covid, Flu, and first Covid shot in the same appointment.

depends on your job. Some require you to get a flu shot. I had to get a flu shot every year when I worked at Texas Children's. It was required. If you were allergic to the shot, you had to wear a mask as soon as you entered the building and could not remove it while inside the building. I have gotten the Covid shot. I had Covid before the vaccinations and you damn right I am getting the shot...it nearly killed me the first time.

They wouldn't give me Shingrix with the Covid vaccine at the same time...Both shots are tough, but that Shingrix shot yikes...glad I don't have to do that again.

ETA: Sorry first Shingles shot.

They did me. Flu and Covid I hardly felt, but Shingrix yikes, you can feel that one.

Of course, I've never had any adverse reactions to any vaccine.

yeah, the doctor warned me that the Shingrix vaccine is painful and sucks...but boy was I not prepared....ouch!

I don't mean to say that the jab will cause literal death. I call it death jab as a figure of speech to show how much I despise it.

That's OK, it's not uncommon. Some people are just afraid of needles and doctors.

If it's any consolation, I have had 6 Covid vaccines. It wasn't that different from any other kind of vaccine. Sometimes it helps to treat yourself to something afterwards for being brave, like a McDonald's Happy Meal or ice cream. It helps.

I know. Covid shots were never that bad for me. But the Shingrix shot really hit me hard for a day or two. And it was worse the second time.

NNNOOO - -you keep that first Shingrex shot away from me!! That knocked me on by butt for a couple of days!

As for the new Covid booster, as soon as the doc says I can get it, right into the arm it goes (with the flu booster). Had open heart surgery back in March (triple bypass) and will do everything I can to protect myself with Doc's approval now that i'm in the HIGH risk category.

You had a choice and you made it. Wait until a friend of yours has shingles, at that point you will be glad you went through the Shingrex reaction. I was fortunate and didn't really have a reaction, aside from a very sore arm for a couple of days.
