Netflix announces release date of show "Dear White People"

I'll wait until Netflix makes it mandatory to watch that to unsubscribe.

I doubt Netflix cares, have fun with your expensive cable with 1000 channels you do not watch. If you don't like it just don't watch it.

They don't care about losing consumers?

Is it me or are there plenty of Kermits in this forum all of a sudden?

While it's a stupid concept for a show, I where big boy pants so I will continue to subscribe. I'm more concerned about show selection than about a company making a product to meet the demands of some wack-o lefties. I'm sure lots of middle class suburban white women will enjoy it while they whip themselves for the sin of being born white.

Big deal.

MTV did the same thing (and continue to do so) and they're rapidly losing popularity.

I'm also surprised with the amount of people who think it's okay to stay subscribed to a company who openly think it is okay to be racist. If the tables were turned, their company's reputation would be destroyed almost instantly.

They're getting backlash from it as they should though.

I love the amount of down votes. :D Hopefully the bastards are getting the point that their idea is unacceptable. I decided to also give it a down vote because **** Netflix and the horse they rode in on.

MTV hasnt been MTV since the 1980's.

Hah, very true.

Regardless, they faced a lot of backlash for a similar situation.

But you care what other people might watch.

From the looks of it this show isn't going to be very successful. If the Youtube comments are any indication it also appears they will lose a good bit of business because of it. I happen to think it's a good thing since Netflix has sucked for years.

But you care what other people might watch.

Not particularly. In fact, I never suggested that someone SHOULD unsubscribe or SHOULD stop watching. I just asked if anyone was.

If you want to take in this kind of rhetoric, that's fine.

Uh yeah, you really did.

It's totally fine to have an opinion of people who don't drop Netflix so there's no reason not to own it.

It actually looks kinda funny.

All the increased publicity is likely going to increase, not decrease the amount of viewers. Not unreasonable to suggest that many wouldn't have taken the time to watch it to begin with but likely will now just to see what it actually says.

You like to talk about agendas, you don't see one here?

No, no I didn't.

It's just interesting the amount of white-bashing that Hollywood has decided it wants to do right now. Convenient as racial tensions are off the charts.

If you replaced "white" with the color of any other race, you would see massive backlash... as it rightfully should.

"Dear Black People" "Dear Brown People" "Dear Red People" "Dear Yellow People"

The list goes on.

I honestly don't care one bit. Netflix can do what it wants; I still enjoy using their service. 'Dear White People' doesn't seem like something that I want to watch, so I won't be doing so.

Simple as that, really.

Ah. You asked because you didn;t care. Makes sense, put that way.
