What're you talking about?

My suggestion, as always, is Christopher Moore's Lamb: The Gospel according to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal.
lol.....i'll check it out.

Very simply put, it is the Greatest story ever re-told. :2razz:

Even devout Christians I know like that book. I personally think it's the funniest book I've ever read.

IMHO, Moore's brilliance is in the way he can achieve hilarious results with the subject matter without portraying Jesus as anything less than what he is portrayed as in the bible.

It's my favorite book of all-time, so you'd better like it!

j/k :2razz:

I do hope you enjoy it, though. Any time I can help someone find a way to laugh in this world, I'm a happier person.

The War of the Worlds Plus Blood, Guts and Zombies and the not quite as good, Pride & Prejudice & Zombies.

Yes I'm a zombiephile.

Jurassic Park. Great book!

Would you, could you, on a train
Would you, could you, on a plane?

Cat in the Hat is so passe. ;)

Would you, could you, mile high?
I think I would, I'd like to try!

literary fiction. thanks.

H.P. Lovecraft's horror short stories and the Conan short stories by Robert E. Howard.

If you have a lot of readers of fantasy in your book club, try out "The Iron Dream." It's an alternate history story with a rather intriguing twist.

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke. Long but very nice and absorbing book. A mix between regency romance and fantasy. The plot is quite unpredictable. You will have plenty to discuss during the meeting.

The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime

dear greenpeace by simon james, saw it in the local bookshop today and thought it was excellent
