NBC's Brzezinski: I'm "Working With The White House" On Oil Spill Talking Points

She said she had the talking points to use to confront Obama critics. I don't think that's being a shill. I think that's one way of many to engage commentators in debate and discussion to get them to justify their opinions. It's not that big of a deal.

She admitted that she was reading from the white house script and that she is not a journalist but an active member of the Obama administration.

why would it be inappropriate for her to provide white house supplied information - especially if she discloses that as her source?

Umm, no, that's not what I said at all. I said that this particular journalistic practice isn't ****ty, unprofessional, or biased.

It's not journalism, she is not a journalism, she is a member of the Obama administration as she readily admits and she should be labeled as such everytime she is put on the air. IE right next to her name Mika Brzezinski should read "of the Obama administration." She is not a journalist she works for the White House press office under the White House press secretary. Journalists do not read off White House talking points verbatim that is what members of the White House press office do. See the difference?

It wouldn't be inappropriate if she didn't call herself a journalist, but she is not a journalist she works for the White House press office, she's not a journalist she is now an Obama administration official.

and by the "facts" i mean the factual response received by mika when she solicited answers from the white house ... to be able to facually counter the lies previously cast by rudy julieannie
if you saw the prior show on which he was a participant, he accused the Obama administration of failing to speak with industry professionals in their assessment of the situation. mika proven him very wrong, based on her reporter's effort to go to the source and ask the questions. the WH insists it did contact industry experts - which proves julieannie was lying. but with him, that is typical

I understand you think a member of the Obama administration reading Obama administration talking points = journalism. She is not a journalist she has admitted to working for the White House press office.

she is not working for the Obama administration (tho i believe her father is) ... all reporters assigned to the WH beat will report what the white house says. why should her reporting be viewed any differently?

why would we see anything wrong with a reporter reporting what the white house said?
in this instance mika reported that the white house confirmed it had spoken with industry experts about the BP issue
those WH provided facts again revealed that rudy julieannie lied ... a neocon trait it seems

She confirmed through who? Oh ya the White House. She was reading White House talking points verbatim, she is not a journalist she is a member of the White House press office.

Yes she is, reading White House talking points verbatim is working for the Obama administration.

(tho i believe her father is) ... all reporters assigned to the WH beat will report what the white house says. why should her reporting be viewed any differently?

Um no, members of the White House press corps do not read White House press briefings verbatim, that is what members of the White House press office do, that is what the White House press secretary does, members of the White House press corps question the White House spokesperson and analyze the White House press briefings and offer a critical objective analysis to the public. Christ you people are unbelievable, you honestly don't see the difference between questioning the White House press spokesperson and being the White House press spokesperson. It's really kind of sad actually.

Actually you don't know that she is reading talking points. Her comment was again that she went to the WH and asked questions (appropriate). It seems possible she is just presenting the other side.

Ya because that's what "working on a file with the White House" obviously means. Catch a clue. She is not a journalist she is an Obama administration official.

where is the line drawn - in your opinion - between a reporter who questions the white house and received the WH response and then announces that as the white house position on an issue and someone who is actually on staff within the white house ... or are you insisting there is no such line?

She admitted that she was reading from the white house script and that she is not a journalist but an active member of the Obama administration.

No she didn't.

You don't see anything wrong with supposed journalists reading from the White House script? Pravda anyone?

She didn't read from a script. She read from White House talking points. And MSNBC isn't state owned and operated. So it's not Pravda. Now do you want to have a serious discussion about the issue or do you just want to keep trolling?

Actually, the meaning isn't obvious. That's why some good follow up questions would help. As we ahve her saying she went to them and asked questions, it is possible what she meant was she was seeking the other side. I personally don't know, but you're making a leap to fit your narrative and not asking enough questions IMHO.

She wasn't just issueing the White House response sport she was advocating on behalf of the White House using White House talking points.

Yes she did.

She read from White House talking points.

Exactly.

And MSNBC isn't state owned and operated.

But she is.

So it's not Pravda.

It might as well be.

Now do you want to have a serious discussion about the issue or do you just want to keep trolling?

She was advocating on behalf of the White House using White House talking points verbatim, that is what a member of the White House press office does not an objective journalist, she is a member of the Obama administration not a journalist.

We don't know this. This is your conclusion, but not one supported. Her words were that she went to the WH and asked questions. If that is what she did, then she did what a journalist should do.

No she isn't a member of the Obama administration. She's a journalist.

No she is a member of the White House press office advocating on behalf of the White House using White House talking points, she is not a journalist by any stretch of the imagination and if you label her a journalist you would feel right at home in Red China or Castro's Cuba where there is nothing but the state press.

WTF are you talking about? She was on the show advocating for the White House by her own admission using White House talking points. Ya that's some journalism.

She is not a member of Obama's press office. She's not a government employee. She is a journalist. She is hired by and paid for by MSNBC.

She is not a member of Obama's press office.

Yes she is.

She's not a government employee.

No she's a volunteer.

She is a journalist.

Not by any stretch of the imagination.

She is hired by and paid for by MSNBC.

And she volunteers to be a spokesperson for the Obama press office while posing as an objective journalist. She is a liar and fraud and her contract needs to be terminated in the intererest of journalistic integrity, but that is not something which MSNBC has so that's not going to happen.

to use agent ferris' "standards of journalism", if glenn beck reports on faux news a reponse provided by the white house, then has become a minion of the Obama administration

beckerheads, gotta love em [/sarcasm]

A) Glenn Beck has completely lost his ****ing mind so why don't you GFYS you little sycophantic statist tool?

B) If Beck started parroting the White House press briefings verbatim then yes that would mean he was working for the White House press office as a spokesperson. It's not really a hard concept to grasp.
