NATO is Now Dead:

Read this scathing report about the NATO alliance.

"NATO’s death was not caused by Donald Trump, though he may soon become its undertaker."

"Nor was it caused by Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, though that war has exposed the Alliance’s hollowness in ways no war game or communique ever could. The real cause lies in decades of European free-riding, American strategic drift, and a foundational lie at the heart of the Alliance: the idea that an empire can masquerade as a collective defense pact without consequences."

They screwed up, they let Putin cry about Ukraine, they should have been putting troops on Ukraine and shipping arms.

Say, "**** you Putin, you can't live next to free people, we don't want to see the Ukraine we know destroyed, you just want to steal borders and we're going to kick you out of Crimea, why you march like you're going to the Pyrenees?"

No, you're supposed to say, "We want our children back, we want you to stop hate education and we want you to stop funding terrorists."

I must say, the desperation Europe has to cling to a supposed allyin the US that never stops whining about them “not doing enough” is rather sad.

Was it Sweden and Norway who just joined or want to join along with Ukraine?
Sweeden, Finland and Ukraine, come on, how do you expand your borders, take in other countries, no brainer, instead we let Russia destroy a country and then, OK, you can be in NATO.

All for joining with the Nazis in World War Two.

And because Ukraine feeds the animal agriculture industry.

Good! R.I.P.

NATO should have been disbanded in 1991, when the Soviet Union was disbanded. Once the Soviet Union dissolved, there was no longer any need for NATO.

Europe can form a new military coalition if they want, but the U.S. should stay out of that coalition.

Too be fair, the Nazi's got them out from under Stalin's heel. It didn't fare to good under him. Desperate people.

Two countries were given a mulligan after fighting alongside the Germans against the USSR. Do you know why?

Dr. Andrew Latham is a Professor of International Relations and Political Theory at Macalester College in Minnesota.

I've never heard of him. His published books:

Theorizing Medieval Geopolitics: War and World Order in the Age of the Crusades, The Holy Lance, Political Theology and Medieval Sovereignty

The OP article is an opinion piece penned by Latham. Did a news-aggregate search, no contemporary article even remotely concerning the "death of NATO" is available.

PS. NATO will be holding a summit in June at The Hague. I think they will discuss/vote on increasing defense spending to 5% of GDP.

Because America didn’t see fighting alongside the Nazis as a bad thing, and said countries begged the Soviets for mercy loudly enough the Soviets agreed.

Stalinist says what?
Let’s see some evidence of me being a “Stalinist”

Or, for that matter, that Finland could have stopped the next Soviet offensive if they decided IS-2s in Helsinki was a priority.

Let's see some evidence that you're not a Stalinist. lol.

It's not in the US's interest to keep Europe from being dominated by Russia?
Russia is not going to dominate Europe - that's nonsense.

Many NATO European member States were deadbeats, and not paying their fair share. Trump had to fly over there to boot them in the a$$ to get them to meet their GDP quotas.

Anyways, the U.S. needs to stay out of foreign affairs - this was made very clear by the American Founding Fathers:

"Let our affairs be disentangled from those of all other nations, except as to commerce." - Thomas Jefferson

"It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world." - George Washington

Show your work, please.

Cool. So, just some boilerplate Bircher lunacy.

Oh, worse. Fortress America isolationist rubbish, with a Bircher bit of the mouthbreathing.

Well, I guess you're right, and then it's just the animal agriculture, that they were unlucky and Russia gets away being a penis again.

Russia, no Hitler, Putin.

Everything you write.

Cool. Could you move your tankie revisionism into the water closet?
So you’ve got precisely nothing. Noted.

Aww, someone doesn’t like having to face up to the fact Finland “escaped” by begging the Soviets for mercy. Too ****ing bad.
