Name a thing that lasted longer than the Confederacy.

You want to make a deluded Trumpster hysterical? Remind them of the fact that the Republican Party has been the party of racists for the last 40+ years.

Every current well known racist person and group supports our current Bigot-in-Chief.

Thats false and stupid and based upon the racist belief that only people of a particular skin color can be racist

To remember Byrd correctly, his change of heart and work to make amends for his racist beliefs/actions must be included.

“Beginning in the 1970s, Byrd explicitly renounced his earlier views in favor of racial segregation. Byrd said that he regretted filibustering and voting against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and would change it if he had the opportunity. Byrd also said that his views changed dramatically after his teenage grandson was killed in a 1982 traffic accident, which put him in a deep emotional valley. "The death of my grandson caused me to stop and think," said Byrd, adding he came to realize that African Americans love their children as much as he does his. During debate in 1983 over the passage of the law creating the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, Byrd grasped the symbolism of the day and its significance to his legacy, telling members of his staff "I'm the only one in the Senate who must vote for this bill".
Robert Byrd - Wikipedia

Yes of course he had to hide his racism. The 60s were over and the 70s ushered in a hatred of racists. Byrd apologized only to remain in office. A guy who said the following would never be sorry: The below hate comes from the heart:
I shall never fight in the armed forces with a negro by my side*... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see*Old Glory*trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.

— Robert C. Byrd, in a letter to Sen. Theodore Bilbo (D-MS), 1944[12][20]

But hey great to see lefties defending a modern day KKK grand Wizard while being angry at Robert E Lee. What insufferable hypocrites.

Byrd was a champion of civil rights and liberties

For the 2003–2004 session, the*National Association for the Advancement of Colored People*(NAACP)[85]*rated Byrd's voting record as being 100% in line with the NAACP's position on the thirty-three Senate bills they evaluated. Sixteen other senators received that rating. In June 2005, Byrd proposed an additional $10,000,000 in federal funding for the*Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorialin Washington, D.C., remarking that, "With the passage of time, we have come to learn that his*Dream*was the*American Dream, and few ever expressed it more eloquently."[86]*Upon news of his death, the NAACP released a statement praising Byrd, saying that he "became a champion for civil rights and liberties" and "came to consistently support the NAACP civil rights agenda".[87]

Stupid is not comprehending another’s post, then responding based on that failure to comprehend.

I didn’t make any reference to the race of Republican supporting racists.

Try to pay better attention or find a literate person to help you.

^^ 100% pure bull****.

You have no way of knowing what was in Byrd’s heart or mind.

Here is what Byrd thinks of blacks behind closed doors. Just like all lefties.

Yes we do...we have his words...but it's great seeing lefties who toss the race card defend a bona fide KKK grand wizard. I mean I always knew you were all full of **** but its been great for those on the fence to see your hypocrisy on display.
Again...I give you exacrly what was in Robert Byrds heart as he factually wrote the following:
I shall never fight in the armed forces with a negro by my side*... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see*Old Glory*trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.

I'm loving watching lefties getting all angry about their beloved democrat KKK Grand Wizard being attacked.

New Coke lasted longer than the Confederacy.

Oh and Robert Byrd was a racist POS as was Robert E. Lee. Hopefully that makes the white wing happy.

What? The Democratic Party still exists and is still trying to overthrown the US Constitution. The Democratic Confederacy is alive as much as ever. We just saw them engage in a nationwide campaign in white majority Democratic controlled cities to burn out and destroy their poor black communities.

THE greatest mistake - a thousand times over - in US history was not outlawing the Democratic Party after the Civil War. There would have been no Jim Crow laws. NO KKK. No lynchings. No forced racial segregation. There would be no race riots now. By not outlawing the Democratic Party the Confederacy was not outlaws and lives on to this day in the Democratic Party.

You want to make a white Democrat hysterical? Talk about even just imposing tariffs against foreign slave labor products? They go ape**** crazy. They love slave made products more than ever - provided they continue to be non-white slaves. Hell, most slave foreign sweatshops are American owned, using foreigners as their task masters - and those super rich ALL are openly Democrats. ALL of them.

That’s quite a feat!

Out of one side of your mouth, you shout empty baseless made up nonsense about Democrats and the Constiution.

And, in the very next breath, you shout for outlawing a political party. Which is un Constiutional.

Your fuhrer would agree with you. He thinks, as king, that he can do whatever he pleases, dispite the law.

And you sing right along.

I love watching alt-righters post dumbass lies to support their failed arguments.

Robert Byrd evolved; he changed for the good. He apologized for his intolerant past and declared that he had been wrong.

Byrd displayed a mix of conservative and liberal points of view in his later years. Remarkably, though, he came out on the right side of issues that are of concern to black voters.

Byrd enjoyed a perfect 100 percent rating from the NAACP. And he proposed $10 million to fund a Martin Luther King National Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Yes we know...Byrd had to alter his public image in order to stay in office. In his heart though...a man who thinks of blacks as mongrels doesnt change his ways. Imagine if Donald Trump said that and then said I sorry. What would you say? Careful...this is where we see if you are a liar.

Here is Byrd AFTER he "evolved". He spends a lot of time apologizing for using racial slurs by accident.

If Trump publicly repented, as Byrd did, and then walked the walk of anti-discrimination I would reconsider my opinion of him.

Byrd’s clearly inelegant choice of words did not detract from the point he was attempting to make.

Frankly, I was more disappointed in Byrd’s belief that racial disparity was largely eliminated and that people were exaggerating current (at that time) racial bias.
