The purpose of government is to provide balance, not to function like a private enterprise. Freedom vs. security, economy vs. social responsibility, personal liberty vs. social order. A good government is bad at all of these extremes by design. We don't want the federal government to operate as efficiently as a private business. It is meant to sacrifice security for the sake of freedom, and vice versa. To sacrifice a booming economy for the sake of social responsibility and vice versa. To sacrifice personal liberty for the sake of social order, and vice versa.

Business regulation makes private business more difficult by design, much like law enforcement regulations deliberately make law enforcement more difficult. I want law enforcement to be difficult due to government red tape, and I want private enterprise to be inefficient due government regulation. This is how personal liberty and social equality are protected. As such, a less efficient health care system available to all is superior to a more efficient healthcare system available only to the rich.

but at least it was an attempt to solve our hc crisis. I call it crisis because most of us are an accident or an illness away from disaster.
So instead of completely dismantling ACA, why not fix the sections that aren't working. An alternative would be to take a closer look at Canada, Australia, some European models, adjust and adapt so it will work for us.

Actually, "Medicare for all" will be "MediCADE for all", and people who wish to see a doctor will need a supplemental plan like you do with Medicare. (In California it's called Medicare Advantage). So those on it will be coughing up an extra 20% or so. Expect to see more Nurse Practitioners and fewer doctors.

California has included illegals in it's healthcare system, so we are expecting every cancer patient in the world (especially China) to come to the USA for free treatment.
