Musk & Twitter

Bringing Balance or Weaponizing information?

Face it, none of this would have happened but for the LEFT. They want to censor everything that does not fit their liking and they want to re-write history, tear down statues, rename schools, holidays etc , devoid the country of crosses and Christianity, and promote nothing but Transgender, drag queen, etc., and climate change. They pushed "wokism" and "racism"to the point of NO ONE is listening any more. So here we have a rich man who can buy this Twitter and actually fight back and of course the left hate him. Same reason they hate Trump, because he fights back!!
They are nothing but big crybabies!!

The thought that Twitter will no longer be a welcome place for only leftists, makes them go crazy. I wonder if things will change all that much on Twitter, as the thing I notice mostly is in reading the comments on posts, and how you have to get past 40 or 50 hate filled rants posted by liberals before you get to any sane reactions. Don't know who places them in that order or if they are randomly placed in that manner, but damn, the place sure seems choked full of socialists and liberals.

Yes, I can imagine. I am not on Twitter, but it seems the left on here are always posting Twitter comments.

LOL ! we'll revisit your post a year from now, if we still have electric power and again after the next inauguration.

Yeah, it would be nice if Twitter actually becomes a balanced platform, with true free speech, instead of what it is now....we'll see.

I have an account, but hardly use it.....mainly just observe to gain insight. When I first opened, they banned me after only 3 or 4 posts....I wondered why, for they gave no reason, so didn't complain for I didn't like it anyways. Then later, I thought wtf, and emailed them to have a reason why the banning.....they replied with reopening my account with no reason for why.....it's a weird place.

Twitter will never make any money, so it was a terrible investment.

Yeah, I would agree to that.....it's not a wise business move, imo. Musk is no dummy and that was a lot of money to dish out for this cash cow, so maybe he has a plan, doesn't care, just a tax write off, or maybe he has a conscious and wants to see Twitter to be more evenly meeted with fairness for all.....who knows?

If they can keep advertisers...

After Musk's tweet yesterday and him cowardly deleting the tweet (too late), more advertisers will be reconsidering.

The plan is obvious. His entire business growth depends on taxpayer funded EV credits and public investments in charging infrastructure. He saw the writing on the wall with the midterms, with a likely takeover of the House and possibly the Senate by the Republicans, and possibly the Republicans taking the presidency in 2024. A Republican Party that is hostile to EVs and pro-oil. What better way to get in the good graces of the American Right, than to buy Twitter and give Trump his account back. This way he ensures a GOP controlled House and Senate will reward him with EV subsidies.

Here is all you need to know about Musk owning twitter... Now, pretend you buy advertising on twitter, would this cause you any concern?

To be fair, this really comes down to our own control over the platform. If we still maintain control over what comes into our feed then this really isn't that meaningful. But if my feed is bombarded by racism and right wing conspiracy theories, then yes, I'll have to find another platform.

Musk was a left darling because of his EV company. Now it seems he is enemy #2.
(Trump is still #1)

Free speech is scary to some. Because you support free expression does not mean you support the speech being expressed.
Free speech is necessary for a healthy society. The current cancel culture opposes different ideas. They want you shut down. Silenced!!

Take some time and read some of the Supreme Court cases on free speech.
Censorship is a very dangerous thing!
Musk became a maga hat because he thought that republicans were going to take control of congress in the midterms. Nothing more.

Agreed... Musk cowardly deleted the tweet.... LMAO...

Good!!!!!
I was hoping Twitter would be fair and balanced on the Pelosi story. I figured it was too early for Musk to be able to stop censorship Twitter has been notorious for, but apparently not in this case.
There are volumes of comments on forums like this and volumes of published articles talking all about the Pelosi event being about right wing extremism and Trump rhetoric. This forum is flooded with that and the narrative creating/ambulance chasing personalities have been 100% dedicated to that narrative since the first minutes. (Boy am I ever glad I didn't do that about Bernie after the Scalise shooting, because it's disgusting).
Anyway, early local reporting from SF was that the man was arrested in his underwear. Now, there is a rather vague "correction" within that early reporting. It certainly does not describe how the man WAS supposedly dressed. Because of what we've all experienced with censorship, the vague correction sure feels like it has the potential of being the oh so familiar censorship in full action.
So, I'm very pleased to see that ALL reports are allowed on Twitter because, not for a second, will I continue to just buy leftist narratives, especially when there was early reporting which could lead to a quite different conclusion than the "narrative" being so intensely pushed by the left.
There are a lot of accusations being tossed out in this Pelosi incident, virtually no new facts being released (that I've yet to hear), so none of the theories have yet been proven wrong. Furthermore, it would be extremely simple to disprove the original underwear version, as they have clear video.
Twitter is exactly right to allow logical theories to be posted, right beside the left's chosen narrative about the story.

Exactly. Think about it, today's GOP has no principles at all. Hell, they don't even really have a platform. They have historically been very pro-oil and hostile to EVs. Tesla's growth depends on increased EVs subsidies and increase public investment in charging infrastructure. The easiest way to ensure the GOP will be friendly to EV subsidies is to buy twitter and reinstate banned right wing accounts. It is that simple. There is no reason to buy the company otherwise as there is no way to make any money off it.

Un-popular take: what if Musk turning into a maga hat makes electric vehicles popular among the right?
This is what I have been saying ever since Musk talked about buying Twitter.

I'm not on Twitter so I don't know all that Musk has either tweeted or deleted or why.
From reading here, I'm assuming you are bothered that some are wondering if Paul Pelosi was engaged in middle of the night sexual activity with the man who assaulted him. I'm one wondering the same thing and I certainly think it's a conclusion most logical people would think possible - at least until more facts come out. It's a heck of lot more logical than "It's Donald Trump's fault", because that's just as ludicrous as saying the Scalise shooting was Bernie's fault.
As far as which political side is generating hate, divisive, and pot stirring activity (the "narrative" trying to be linked to the Pelosi attack), a good read of a forum like this would give an excellent clue.

I am talking about the CEO of twitter posting conspiracy conspiracy bullshit...

I wonder as time passes with no hard truths, if the Pelosi's are involved in what the reportings will be.
Paul got a pass for his DUI, no time served, nothing!

What is the conspiracy bullshit - that Donald Trump caused rhetoric caused the attack or that Paul Pelosi had a middle of the night sexual encounter which led to a fight?
