The US government subsidizes US sectors. The US government does not subsidize foreign industry. The US does grant foreign aid, which may purchase prescription drugs, but this is diplomacy, mostly, not at all connected to trade or drug manufacture.

Trump has you confused. Trade imbalances occur naturally between individuals, companies, and by extension, nations. Nations don't trade with each other. Companies do. Companies then trade with customers, the vast majority of which are end-users. When you add up a subset of these freely made transactions, you will arrive at an imbalance. There is only one possible measurement that arrives at trade equality, and that would be a measure of total global exports vs total global imports. Any other measurement involving any other subset will show an imbalance. I image with infinite iterations, we would see balances occur at the moment trade passed the threshold of equality, in one direction or another.

But enough with logic, we're talking about the real world. My ECON texts were instructive. Were yours? Or were they riddled with "TDS?"

The Reader’s Digest of what I’ve suggested is that the election of an obvious criminal (not my opinion, he’s a convicted criminal), whose policy is decidedly going to benefit one economic class at the cost of two other economic classes of this nation by anyone other than the one economic class being benefitted is a bit dopey by the two classes who will be negatively impacted.
