It's so obvious... Unless of course you're a liberal... Then under no circumstances does liberal bias ever take place. (see Dan Rather thread)

I'd like to see some data to back up Joe's point about Clinton appointees vs Bush appointees.

Why? This kind of biased bs has been going on a long time in the media, and the sad fact is, no amount of data in the world will ever change the stance of the people who deny the existence of liberal bias in the media anyway... So why would anyone even bother?

Can you back up Joe's claim? Let's see an objective, factual study that backs up his claim.

Well first you'd have to find where they ever report on a Dem in an unfavorable light. :-)

So, nothing has even been said negative about a democrat?

Can you piont out any examples where someone on FOX News points out their conservative bias?

I don't doubt what Joe said, but I'd love to see some data to support it. According to AIM, the media uses the term "hardline conservative" about ten times as often as they use "hardline liberal".

So, if you say it's true, then it has to be? Anyone who disagrees with YOU is simply wrong? I hope you realize Joe pulled that comment out of his ass!

Joe pulled that comment out of his ass!
He probably didn't analyze any data before he drew that conclusion, but I don't have to analyze any data to conclude that Fox is conservative. It's obvious, just as the liberal bias is obvious with the other networks.

joe is tossing out more unfounded bull****
trying to play the victim in this land of the easily offended

if you really want to piss him off, ask him where they are on finding the person who murdered his congressional assistant; the one he was reportedly in a relationship with at the time of her death

Many a study has show that what seems obvious to some didn't quite turn out that way. We often need more than it is obvious.

Other medial might be biased but fox is the only one that I know that hands out memos on how to slant the news. :2wave:

<"Please use the term 'government-run health insurance,' or, when brevity is a concern, 'government option,' whenever possible," wrote Sammon, who also doubles as a conservative commentator when not overseeing news coverage. >

<"When it is necessary to use the term 'public option' (which is, after all, firmly ensconced in the nation's lexicon), use the qualifier 'so-called,' as in 'the so-called public option,'" he continued. "Here's another way to phrase it: 'The public option, which is the government-run plan.'" >

Been done to death . Conservatives win. Pelosi tried to spin it to sound better to the people, by calling it the "consumer option" instead of gov. run public option. Fox reported accurately by using the most honest discription.

More of fox slanting of the news, this time they sent it (the memo) out 15 minutes after their correspondent reported on the air that the UN “announced that 2000-2009 was "on track to be the warmest [decade] on record." “
:lamo

<The directive, sent by Fox News Washington managing editor Bill Sammon, was issued less than 15 minutes after Fox correspondent Wendell Goler accurately reported on-air that the United Nations' World Meteorological Organization announced that 2000-2009 was "on track to be the warmest [decade] on record.">

The name of this thread is “MSNBC host, points out the liberal bias of co-host “ and it is posted in the "Bias in the Media" forum.I think slanting the news fits in perfectly. :2wave:

MSNBC program hosts are not shy about admitting their personal biases. It is no secret that many of them have strong liberal viewpoints. That being said, there is no such thing as objectivity. Every journalist is a victim of their own personal bias, and that bias absolutely will factor into their work. Bias doesn't simply affect how information is related, it affects how it is initially perceived, so bias interferes on both ends of the communication process.

Admitting your bias from the start is the honest approach. MSNBC viewers know that they will be recieving political commentary with a liberal slant from most of MSNBC's talking heads. They also know, as a result, that they need to keep that in mind when receiving that information. Additionally, many of the folks at MSNBC appear to have recently redoubled their efforts to avoid letting that bias cripple their ability to deliver the facts of the story (not that their ability was particularly compromised to begin with, but the effort they are putting forth now is obvious and appreciated).

Touting an obviously skewed viewpoint as "Fair and Balanced" however, is blatantly dishonest. So is making up 'facts'. Evidence proves that great effort is expended to make certain that the narrative Fox News touts is carefully planned and implemented. I have seen is no strong evidence of such efforts in the narrative delivered by MSNBC, and I do look for it.

I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet another study showing that the more you watch, the less you know. :lamo

<A new survey of American voters shows that Fox News viewers are significantly more misinformed than consumers of news from other sources.>

* 91 percent believe the stimulus legislation lost jobs

* 72 percent believe the health reform law will increase the deficit

* 72 percent believe the economy is getting worse

* 60 percent believe climate change is not occurring

* 49 percent believe income taxes have gone up

* 63 percent believe the stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts

* 56 percent believe Obama initiated the GM/Chrysler bailout

* 38 percent believe that most Republicans opposed TARP

* 63 percent believe Obama was not born in the U.S. (or that it is unclear)
