Thailand is not in the South and is indeed "overseas".>> Speaking to an enthusiastic Democratic crowd that increasingly sees jobs moving overseas, Clinton said Thailand should not be granted access to the U.S. auto market.
So she wants to punish the poor people of Thailand? And someone needs to clue her in, the South is not overseas.

That's not what I'm reading there.Stinger said:Those jobs are moving here, not to Thailand, those Asian countries are building auto plants here and the jobs are here. As I said someone needs to clue here in. But let her go around saying how she is going to stop them, how she will put tariffs and other restrictions on foriegn manufacturers to save jobs in the north. Kerry lost because he ignored the South, so will she.

Stinger said:Not to mention KIA which has finalize it's site selection. They were looking at Meridian MS but after looking at the demograhics the were afraid THERE WEREN'T ENOUGH AVAILABLE WORKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now it looks like Texas last I heard.
And your list doesn't include such support companies as Hysco, Topre, ZF, Ogihara, Precission Strip, Mobis and on and on and on.
Mrs. Bill Clinton is clueless.

Trajan Octavian Titus said:That's exactly right people don't understand that the foriegn companies are built here in America so the jobs aren't being outsourced the jobs still go to the American workers.

Earthlink, AOL... give em a call sometime. Tell me what you think then. Most people don't understand that CSR's make a good deal of money, and companies are being allowed to ship it outside of the US.

I didn't catch the guy's name, but one of the Republican guys was talking about how we need to expand upon outsourcing jobs. He was talking about how it's increased our GDP and such.....well, that's great and all, but then people wonder why there are so many unemployed Americans.

Trajan Octavian Titus said:When you hear the Democrats complaining about globalization and outsourcing you have to realize it's only a political ploy and not an ideological one. The Democrats are just as big on globalization as the Republicans.
Wasn't she the smae woman who a three or four weeks ago tried to imply that republicans were racist ,"that the republicans ran the white house like a plantation you know what I'm talking about"?Where does this woman get the nerve to accuse anyone of playing any particular "card"?Stinger said:Sen. Grain of salt and all that. For their study, Nosek, Banaji and social psychologist Erik Thompson culled self-acknowledged views about blacks from nearly 130,000 whites, who volunteered online to participate in a widely used test of racial bias that measures the speed of people's associations between black or white faces and positive or negative words. The researchers examined correlations between explicit and implicit attitudes and voting behavior in all 435 congressional districts.
The analysis found that substantial majorities of Americans, liberals and conservatives, found it more difficult to associate black faces with positive concepts than white faces -- evidence of implicit bias. But districts that registered higher levels of bias systematically produced more votes for Bush.
"Obviously, such research does not speak at all to the question of the prejudice level of the president," said Banaji, "but it does show that George W. Bush is appealing as a leader to those Americans who harbor greater anti-black prejudice."

Stinger said:There aren't so many unemployed Americans. But unless you can provide more details of exactly what was being said or proposed I don't think you'll get much comment,
Stace said:Aren't so many? Like I just told Trajan, I'm one of them. And until recently, my husband was, too. But that's a different argument that's already being discussed in another thread.
