Fifty-eight percent of respondents in the two-day poll - including one in four Republicans - said Trump's "Make America Great Again" movement is threatening America's democratic foundations.

Biden's Sept. 1 speech marked a sharp turn for his efforts to boost Democrats in the Nov. 8 midterm elections, when Republicans aim to win control of the U.S. Congress.

Speaking in Pennsylvania, a key electoral battleground, Biden urged voters to reject Trump and extremism. Republican leaders, including House of Representatives minority leader Kevin McCarthy, responded by calling Biden divisive.

You view this in an archetypal bad guy vs. good guy way. It’s pretty comical.

No one but you thinks Biden and Trump are gearing up for a Hell in a Cell match.

What people see instead is nuance. They see two diseased political parties. Decades of neoliberalism on both sides of the aisle. The fruits of NAFTA. A working class left behind. Disgusting amounts of money in politics that cloud our legislators judgement.. and that’s being charitable to them. Stubborn infighting paralyzing our legislative body. They see an incredibly resilient framework of government being tested every day.

Americans see people like Meadows, Trump, and Giuliani willing to throw 300 years of history out the window for their own self interest and cynical power plays. Americans know something is wrong. And they know Trump isn’t the hero of this story.

America is against him. The only futility here are Trump's continued attempts at escaping accountability. The American people will certify Trump's destruction. And then they'll be laughing at you.

I don't think they are as a whole. Don't get me wrong. People like Mike Flynn are 100% fascists. But, they would need to get rid of a lot of people at the state, local, and even federal level before the whole party wanted to go full dictator like Flynn and Trump would.

I have a few takeaways from that poll.

...The Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 60% of Republicans don't think Trump's MAGA movement represents the majority of the party.

The first result seems to indicate 75% of Republicans as MAGA, which seems to be a very steady poll result going back a year.

The second question is interesting. Apparently, shown in this poll and virtually all others, MAGA is a 75% majority of Republicans, yet 60% think MAGA is a minority in the party.

It looks like a lot of people unaware they are MAGA.

The MAGAs are a threat. 75% of Republicans. It's about 25% of the electorate.

There are plenty of people who aren't MAGA themselves, but don't see MAGA as a threat. They're uninformed and could be a threat, but I wouldn't include them with MAGAs.
