Luc Montagnier is a well known French virologist who often disagrees with the mainstream scientific establishment. Over a year ago, he said the covid virus was designed in a lab. That was considered nonsense by the mainstream until recently, but now it is considered possible.

Now Montagnier says the covid mRNA vaccines might cause neurodegenerative illness in 5 or 10 years. That, of course, is currently considered nonsense by the scientific establishment. But in 5 years, who knows?

He also thinks the vaccines are creating the new variants.

It's just his opinion, but he is an experienced virologist and his opinion should not be ignored. He says what he thinks because he is old and does not have to worry about his career. And, of course, he is not the only expert who strongly disagrees with the current official opinions on the pandemic.

Imagine how much more compelling your post would have been with links to his research and data that backs up his opinions. Instead, all we got were four paragraphs that distill down to "some dude has an opinion on something!"

As a virologist he should realize that without a peer reviewed study his opinion is worthless. He's just another nut.

No---not considered nonsense. You are twisting words....

he is "well-knowm, yes-----but shown to be someone to take only with a grain of salt. Not a legit scientist. He is the "Rudy Gulianni" of scientists

The same Luc Montagnier who implied DNA could teleport? Or thought antibodies treated autism?

Lol I'll pass on his latest "thoughts" but you go right on believing.

The mainstream establishment has circled wagons and its official position cannot easily be criticized. For one thing, I got very different results searching in Bing.com instead of Google. Google just gave me the "fact checkers" with their politically correct dismissals.

Remember the scientific establishment has decided this is an emergency, and they have decided the new experimental vaccines are the solution. So they will not tolerate dissent. But you can find dissenters by searching diligently and carefully. No, I don't read the wacko conspiracy theorists.

Montagnier disagreed with the mainstream consensus on AIDS -- and he was one of the discoverers of HIV. They still won't take his opinion seriously. He also has given some support for homeopathy (water memory), which mainstream science considers nothing but voodoo.

I have, for a very long time, been interested in alternative scientific ideas. I know that the mainstream scientific establishment can be very close-minded about certain things.

Anyway, this is Montagnier's opinion, you can consider it or ignore it. This being a predictably Democratic forum, I assume you will ignore it. Or call him an idiot, as if that were a logical argument.

I think the WHO has a lot to answer for....more so than most.

How does this make sense, when the people getting sick are the unvaccinated?

He says vaccinated people are getting sick. I don't know. The public does not have access to what is really happening. Does he? Well I don't know.

Homoeopathy? Sugar pills? You're right, it's a real money spinner for the likes of Nelson's. Voodoo? 100% right. It belongs with blood-letting and trepanning. Right, I'm off to burn some Clary Sage to ward off the negative waves.
Criticise conventional thought by all means, but not from a position of ignorance or blind faith in 'alternative' or 'natural' therapies, to the exclusion of everything else.

Montagnier never said anything about sugar pills, or homeopathic remedies. He did research on the "memory" of water, the idea that water can store information. And strangely, mainstream science will not even look at the evidence for that. That kind of thing just irks them, because it shows they actually don't have everything all figured out.

Maybe because there is no evidence beyond his crackpot theory? Water is inert; it cannot have anything remotely resembling a memory. For that one needs a nervous system. I guarantee scientists have more pressing things to be concerned with-they don't get irked by the thousands of mad theories flying around-or do you expect them to investigate every one, just because?

Who needs the 'establishment' to count the sick and dead and realize it is/was a deadly pandemic. Don't know what you mean by "emergency." And the vaccines simply ARE the best solution available to us at this writing. Almost no one has died from COVID after the vaccines were fully effective, a couple of weeks after the last dose. So no one need "decide" this - we can open our eyes and see this without any expert holding our hand.

And if you think COVID wasn't an "emergency" however you define it, what was it? And if vaccines aren't the solution, what is? That's what's missing from your little narrative.

Why make this partisan? As of now we've got no reason to pay attention to this person. All we have are statements you've made about what he believes. For us to take seriously his views on the vaccine, or anything else, we'll need more than you telling us what some other guy said, somewhere, backed by who the hell knows what evidence or theory. Why would Republicans take this guy seriously? There's no facts or evidence backing up anything you've alleged he believes.

Show me actual research and data.

Otherwise he is just another crackpot out there that you seem to be compelled to share with everyone.

You are confused by the word "memory." Things other than nervous systems can certainly store information. I mean, computers. Or even just a pencil and paper. There are many scientists who believe water can store information. Just because you don't read much doesn't mean it isn't possible.

So this is how CT's start and spread. You're telling us these things you say he believes, and you're expecting people to take him seriously, when you haven't seen the evidence and neither has anyone else. We're just supposed to disbelieve the data being released, because ?????????? and believe that the vaccine is doing more harm than good, despite the evidence we've all seen, because ????????????

It's just a plea to believe a CT, backed by nothing. Establishment BAD!!! How do we know? ?????????!!!!!

I don't know if there are any Republicans who take him seriously. If I didn't post this here, you never would have heard of him. Since most people don't read much, and get all their information from TV news.

Oh. If someone disagrees with the mainstream authorities, they are a crackpot? That's how it works?

'Many' scientists believe this? Who? By the way, 'memory' is a long way from 'storing information' with a pencil.

Yep, from the following :

Luc Montagnier Is Not Losing It. Luc Montagnier Has Lost It.

I don’t see any alternative. My question from last year is answered, as I’d feared.

Word comes of an autism conference featuring the likes of Jenny McCarthy and Andrew Wakefield, which should be all any well-informed person needs to hear.

And Luc Monagnier is there, too. Not content with teleporting DNA molecules and defending homeopathy, he now says that he can cure autistic children with antibiotics, and is decrying the reception that these claims are getting. In fact, all of Montagnier’s odd beliefs tend to run together,

….

Even if one might want to give Montagnier the benefit of the doubt, based on his past work, there’s no way that anyone can be taken seriously

Actually: ….

The Memory of Water is a 2015 Chilean drama film written and directed by Matías Bize.
