Monica Lewinsky resurfaces, says Clinton should have resigned over affair

CNN —
Monica Lewinsky is revisiting the events involving Bill Clinton that first put her in the media spotlight over 25 years ago, saying that the former president should have resigned from office at the time.

Sitting down with “Call Her Daddy” podcast host Alex Cooper, Lewinsky responded to a question on how she thought the matter should have been handled by the media and the White House once the news broke that the former president had an affair with her when she was a White House intern.

“I think that the right way to handle a situation like that would have been to probably say it was nobody’s business and to resign,” Lewinsky told Cooper. “Or to find a way of staying in office that was not lying and not throwing a young person who is just starting out in the world under the bus.”

Geez, Monica, move on. Get a life. Really.

Might not have had an Iraq war.
True.

Afghanistan still would have happened.

Gore shouldn't have picked Joe Lieberman as his VP. He lost a lot of votes because Lieberman was Jewish, and Americans do not like Jewish candidates.

Gore should have picked Bill Bradley or someone else at the time.

Who cares?
!00%. It's a little late for that. The bottom line, it was Linda Tripp who threw her under the bus. Billy was willing to keep denying it until the dress was revealed.

That was 30 years ago.
Who cares what she thinks about it now.
The affair was not illegal.
And any aftermath from it was between Bill and Hillary.
Clinton lying to Congress under oath about it was what got him in trouble.

Lieberman was weak gruel. He certainly stuck a dagger into his own campaign.

"Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, the Democratic candidate for vice president, said today that Florida election officials should reconsider their rejection of hundreds of military ballots from overseas, even if they might not comply with the law.

Mr. Lieberman's comments, a retreat from the position the Democrats had taken since Friday, came after they were stung by Republican charges that they had made a concerted effort to disenfranchise members of the military. While Republicans painted their opponents as being willing to use any means to manipulate vote totals in the extraordinary, tense and prolonged Florida count, Democrats complained that they were losing a nasty public relations battle for simply insisting on following the law as it has been applied in the past."

Yeah, he probably should have. If nothing else Gore probably would have won in 2000.

She needs to take some responsibility for having sex with a married man which is the event that created the circus in the first place. Then instead of keeping it quiet, she had to blab all the salacious details to someone she hardly knew.

She has no one to blame but herself.

Ah, those innocent days when an Oval Office blowjob actually got a rightwinger in a thunderous uproar of moral indignation.

I care what she thinks because......................................................?

Now here is an example of "media madness".

She needs to take some responsibility for having sex with a married man which is the event that created the circus in the first place. Then instead of keeping it quiet, she had to blab all the salacious details to someone she hardly knew.

She has no one to blame but herself.

She was a displicable woman...

..... ..... ..... To orally raped the poor man...

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... Then told others about it.

I am just here to ask who gives a **** what Lewinsky OR Bill Clinton think about anything at all?

He left office 25 years ago. NOBODY CARES.

It was going to be revealed anyway, there were rightwingers working with her anyway...Bill had a character problem for years, that's why Republicans brought his issues up in 1992 anyway, but it was exposed in '98 anyway.

She was young and in love. She was beaming.

So the argument is that politicians who have had affairs should resign?

So its all the woman's fault!

Just like the bible

Yeah I wish he had, but I think that ship has ****in sailed.

No, they're both at fault. In life you have to take personal responsibility for what you did. None of this happens if she doesn't have sex with a married man. You can't blame the world for the consequences of your bad choices.

The same is true for Bill Clinton. Of course, he is richer and more powerful so he suffers less damage. I would say he is more to blame because he is older but life isn't fair.

But again, she was an adult. She didn't care what damage she would cause to Hillary's marriage or the humiliation she brought on the Clinton family. And she is the one who blabbed about it.

I can't stand seeing her act like she's some innocent victim here. She should take responsibility and move on.

You're ancient in your thinking. Women are NOT the enemy.

Good bye

I can't believe how long it's been but there were only two people who knew the salacious details of what happened. If the headline were just "Bill Clinton had an affair" then big deal. It was reading about the Cigar and all the details that made this such a sensational story. And those details came from her blabbing to that woman who betrayed her (forgot her name).
