Mitt Passes On Third Chance at Losing

Vast swaths of the American public will be denied a chance of being insulted by Mitt Romney for a third presidential election in a row. After spending the last several months teasing voters, Romney told supporters on Friday morning that he will not make a third attempt at the presidency, according to the Washington Post. UPDATED: Mitt Passes On Third Chance at Losing

Well that is that

Looks like ole Jeb and the entire conservative movement were able to talk him out of it. Cmon, Christie!

Darn, no more 47% cracks :/

my guess is that Bush offered him a cabinet-level position if he agreed not to run. something happened at that meeting.

He finally listened to the voice in his head that said, "You couldn't close the deal two times, what makes you think you can do it on the third?" and stopped listening to the people around him. His esteem just went up in my book.

Good. For some reason I always felt I needed to wash my hands after watching him on the TV.

Overall, the candidates on either side make my bile rise. Again.

Dang. Romney is a late night comedian's dream come true. And I was so looking forward to watching Ann Romney cry bitter tears as Mitt lost the election again.

Yup. It may have been as simple as "look at the staffing and the donor primary. you've already lost inside of your space", but a position wouldn't be out of bounds. But what would appeal to Romney? I dunno.

We would be better off had he won. Screw the 47% of losers.

Strange. I always felt like I had just escaped being fondled by a predator. Not kidding. There is something about his affect that gives me the willies. He is impressive on paper, but creepy strange in reality.

doubt that it will be veep. commerce? labor? treasury? something to do with the economy seems the most likely. it's all speculation at this point, though.

Now the question is, when do the other 25 possible candidates that will not get the nomination drop out for the GOP?

Say what you want about that comment, he was still 100% right.

-Not a Romney fan, I just hate when people whine about the truth.

I just sort of look at the whole thing squinty eyed. Hillary took SecState because she wanted a springboard to run for President. What's Romney's intent? What would attract him to this deal?

The hypocrisy is, the wealthy rely on government too. Without crony capitalism, the profits of these large corporations would tumble.

I've speculated in previous threads that Bush would give serious consideration to Romney as his VP running mate. I think that's still a viable option and would be a very serious challenge to the Democrats to match.

Whew. That was lucky.

But I sure wish Kerry would get the Democratic nomination. eace

 force them to compete with smaller businesses and innovative new companies?!? What are you, some kind of poor-hating, jungle capitalist, ayn randian?!?

I'd like to see your logic on that one, especially given that the VP's main purpose is to serve as President at need.

I mean, the "Look at These Two Rich Fat Cats Running Against Poor Hillary" ads basically write themselves.

You should take your fantasies to the sex and sexuality forum

Well we should hope that the 1%er elitist with offshore Bank Accoutsn, Hillary Clinton, goes nowhere near the white house.

Mitt, who was born on third base, but kept claiming that he had hit a home run has finally realized that after 3 strikes you're out.

This will give another of the GOP's shining stars a chance to lose in 2016.

"Better day's are coming." ~ But not for today's out of touch, running out of time, GOP.
