Minnesota suspected assassin Vance Boelter captured alive after intense manhunt for fatal shooting of Dem pol, spouse: report

I'm watching the news conference. Someone spotted him and phoned the police.

He was believed to be in a wooded/fielded area. A perimeter was set up and helicopters and drones used to narrow down where he was exactly.

Good police work.

Two quick takeaways that come to mind are: 1. It's nice that so much inter-agency cooperation and communication, even between state, local and federal authorities, yielded this result, and 2. that despite so much law enforcement, even SWAT team involvement, nobody got trigger happy, leading to the best possible outcome.

Sometimes we get things right.

They appear to have captured the murderer.

"Suspected political assassin Vance Luther Boelter was captured Sunday following an intense manhunt for the gunman accused of murdering a Minnesota state lawmaker and wounding another, according to a report.

...

He was arrested and taken into custody in a field in Sibley County Sunday night, sources told local station Fox 9."

Is this accurate, he was appointed by Tim Walz? Hardly seems that would make him a conservative.

He was appointed by Dayton and by Walz. Governors appoint a lot of people to a lot of committees.

What we do know: his best friend said he voted for trump last November. THIS, of course, is a damn good indication that the would-be mass murderer is not a Democrat.

No, but it doesn't necessarily make him a Republican, either.

Frankly, a lot of the biographical information on him indicates a man who wasn't well in general.

A 1000 post thread on this right wing killer already and the same people from there show up here after being absolutely obliterated to....

.... defend Nazis, throw red herrings concerning groups not dependent on party affiliation, and push for the focus to be on the guy's mental health.

They have their script ready, and Right Angle News or whatever right wing cuck news website is leading their charge.

Where are you all getting your news? How do you not know yet that this guy is 100% MAGA?

Voting to reinstate trump for a second term as POTUS and CinC - after the incompetence of trump's first time in the Oval Office and after trump's incendiary political rhetoric - sure as hell does make someone a Republican.

That Boelter is also not "well in general" could be true. But that doesn't change the fact he chose to return trump to the WH. And THIS makes him a Republican.

There were at least 3 million people who voted for Biden in 2020 who voted for Trump in 2024.

I don't judge based on one data point.

Trump pardoned and/or commuted the sentences of the insurrectionists. Every day he or his appointees are telling everyone the Democrats are the enemy. Past week we all heard right wingers publicly express their desire to kill Democratic protestors. Every day right wing media engages in another round of outrage news. Of course violence is bound to occur. And none of you have the courage to stand up and say enough is enough.

There's a lot of incendiary rhetoric going on with all sides right now.

No, I don't like the nonsense I hear on the right, but I don't like people beating up cops, burning cars, and flying Mexican flags, either,

It is not unusual for Governors to hire/appoint people into jobs that are of a different political party.

Your attempts to deflect attention away from the fact the would-be mass murderer is a Republican aren't going to work.

He voted for trump last time around.

AND there's Boelter's extensive target list, which you seem to be overlooking:

...The twin attacks in Champlin and Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, on Saturday led to the discovery in the suspect's vehicle of an alleged target list of dozens of Minnesota Democrats, including Gov. Tim Walz, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, U.S. Sen. Tina Smith and state Attorney General Keith Ellison, according to law enforcement sources....

He's a MAGA... just like you.

I'm sure the two of you would get along well. Just imagine the two of you enjoying a beer, waxing poetic about owning the leftist filth, sharing dreams about being noticed by Donald... yup peas in a pod.

None of this makes him a Republican, just someone who hated his state government.

LOL....yeah, it does.

He voted for trump, the known incompetent and corrupt putin panderer.

His target list included only Democratic politicians. Not a single Republican.

AND....that you don't seem to know that "U.S. Rep." and "U.S. Sen." reflect FEDERAL elected positions and not "state government" leads one to wonder just who you are.....
