Mike Waltz claims ‘full responsibility’ for Signal chat group leaked to journalist

These guys look worse and worse.

Waltz struggles to explain what happened but he has Elmo looking into it...

Later in the interview he suggests Goldberg might have hacked into the text group....

The most clueless person might still be Donald Trump who at first knew nothing about this, even after the Atlantic story was being widely reported, and now thinks it was a phone call...

Trump is responsible for what happened because he put these idiots in these positions.

They are all shameless liars, especially the psychopath in chief.

it’s the same tactic the psychopath in chief has used for decades, just demonize the other person/entity, demonize them to the point of reducing them to being damn near worthless, damn near criminals, all done with the hope that the person or persons won’t be believed.

Right out of the gate with Hegseth demonizing the reporter up to now. Those words may have come out of Hegseth’s mouth but they were the words of his dear leader.

As is always the case with the entire Trump cult, every accusation is a confession.

Lie, deny, attack.

Rinse and repeat.

Your guess is way better than the Democrats' performative circus show this morning in front of the whole world.

Indeed.
The Dems are going to deploy their MSM propagandists and over hype and over play all this, because they are down in the polls and they know it.
Their sheeple with buy into all that without questioning.
And they have the gall to turn right around projecting this cult-like sheeple compliance onto their political opponents who don't even come close to doing the same thing.

Yeah, quite a 'circus', isn't it?

its front page news on fox.

are they part of the dem msm propagandists?

They used Signal because they are lazy, incompetent, or don’t know or care about established protocols for secure communications (or all of those.)

Consequently, when what those protocols are supposed to do aren’t used, a failure occurs and someone takes the blame. However, that person knows nothing will happen because nobody will charge them and if they miraculously got charged, the Fascist In Chief would pardon them. So, there is no incentive to following established protocols.

But why were they sharing highly sensitive information over a private messaging app rather than using secure channels? The most likely explanation is that they wanted to evade accountability: texts between government officials are supposed to remain part of the record, while Signal texts can be and in this case were set to disappear. As Phillips O’Brien notes, war planning aside, what the group chat reveals is top officials’ contempt for and hostility toward Europe; some of them opposed an operation against the Houthis because clearing the shipping lanes might help our (erstwhile?) allies.

So the disaster reflected both stupidity and bad intentions. And the same is true of other ongoing disasters, including the shockingly rapid collapse of the Social Security Administration.

In World War I and II the German Communications was broken. In each case the Germans believed it was impossible. They believed anything conceived in the mind of a German was so superior that no one else could ever crack it.

Obviously they were wrong. But the arrogance is what is similar to today. Being Straight White People they are far superior to anyone else. They were being clever in using Signal. There would be no record and they could deny everything if ever questioned.

How Clever they felt. How brilliant they believed themselves to be.

They were riding high on their intellectual genius. Then they found out that they had actually taken the pooch and started screwing.

Now what is funny to me is that if this Editor posts the complete conversation including the names of serving intelligence officers the RW can’t complain. The administration has insisted that nothing classified was discussed. So if they do object the defense would just play the video of them telling the public that there was nothing classified.

For this administration, going before a judge and saying yes. We lied. But we were just deceiving our enemies like Canada is too much to endure.

more people voted against trump than for him.

Hard to overplay such a serious **** up.

You are ignoring something very important that Waltz said...that the contact in the Signal app had one person's name and, instead of their number, it had that reporter's number. Yes, Waltz is doing the right thing and taking full responsibility for this happening, but he knows HE didn't do that and you can be damned sure he's going to find out who did.

I would hate to be that person.
Oh sure, like someone in the trump administration will have hell to pay. That’s laughable. The signal app should just not have been used to discuss such sensitive information.

Or perhaps the NSA should be having a heart to heart talk with the person who put that number in his app.
Or perhaps the NSA should be having another heart to heart talk with the administration about not using public commercial software for national security communications.

Nope.

The Trump administration is, right now, engaged in finding out how a contact in the Signal app had one person's name...and Goldberg's number...and finding out who put that manipulated contact in Waltz's computer.

The Trump administration is closing the barn door after the cows got out. Their incompetence is obvious and they will not put any effort at all into correcting it. But they will lie and say they did.

The Emperor has no clothes. His propagandist sheeple followers don’t believe what is reported accurately confirming this fact.

And don't forget: This is just one use of Signal for TS information, that the public only found out about by accident.

We have no way of knowing what other communications, both TS as well as non-TS material that ought to be preserved per the Federal Records Act, are on Signal.

But I bet China knows....
