Mike Waltz claims ‘full responsibility’ for Signal chat group leaked to journalist

Nor argument with that, the argument that I have is the over hyping, far more so than is reasonable or reasoned.
Hard to over hype something so damning.

People need to be fired. Gabbard and a couple of others need to be charges with perjury for lying to congress.

This is serious stuff and needs to be treated as such.

Nope.

The Trump administration is, right now, engaged in finding out how a contact in the Signal app had one person's name...and Goldberg's number...and finding out who put that manipulated contact in Waltz's computer.
Because it just has to be a multi tiered next level 4D chess conspiracy and not just mindmother****ing numbing incompetency.

Agree for the most part, but I think what you are missing in this assessment is the arrogance and hubris of these morose mother****ers. I sure hope they don't get good Americans killed with their Busch league bullshit.

Because it just has to be a multi tiered next level 4D chess conspiracy and not just mindmother****ing numbing incompetency.
Nah...

It's nothing like that. It's just typical deep state shit.

LOL. Taking responsibility apparently means blaming some anonymous person they haven't found.
or doesn't exist. Walz already poo-poo'd the idea of a staffer doing in during that blistering Ingraham interview.

Hard to over hype something so damning.
. . . and there's the over hyping.

We are, after all, talking about a simple keyboard error which included the journalist, when it shouldn't have, right?

Before you go and call the Signal application insecure, make sure you know enough about it, eh?
And I'm not talking about an assessment of the application from 8 years ago. How about a current one.

From my background and knowledge about the app, communication no the app is secure.
The data is never stored in transit or on any servers, and is military grade encrypted payload.
You're not going to get much better than that.

People need to be fired. Gabbard
Has the left ever been in favor of this former Democrat congressman being in the cabinet?
This just another run at preventing her from being in that cabinet position.

and a couple of others need to be charges with perjury for lying to congress.
Let me know when they start any of that.

National Intelligence Director Apologizes for Lying to Congress

Dir. Clapper says a response to the Intelligence Committee in March was 'clearly erroneous.'

This is serious stuff and needs to be treated as such.

Yeah, Trump 101, never ever admit to a mistake, blame others and ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK!!!

Wonder when KING Trump's DoJ will be preferring Charges against Jeffrey Goldberg for espionage?

. . . and there's the over hyping.

We are, after all, talking about a simple keyboard error which included the journalist, when it shouldn't have, right?
Hard to overhype the fact that it was against policy too discuss this stuff on their in the first place, they were so careless that they included a reporter with no security clearance, and then they lied to Congress about it.

I'm not even giving your whataboutism the time of day.

Someone in the government installed the app on his device...just like with Ratcliffe, who said the app was installed on his device by a CIA employee.
BS! You don't know that. Even if that were true, it doesn't explain how he got onto his contact list if he had never called or contacted him. If there were anyone in that group that you think would know better than to use an unsecure app to transmit such sensitive military info, the kind of info that could have gotten US military personnel killed, you would think it would be Ratcliffe. But apparently, the stupidity in this administration is contagious.

The Trump Administration has got to be the most DEI like group of individuals ever assembled.

It's just that there's only three criteria for "inclusion". You have to blow Donald Trump, you have to be white and you have to hate on non-white people.
You forgot criteria Number 4, "Kiss King Trump's ample orange ass!"

Ok, let's take a moment and think this through.

Signal is pointing out that their core technology is safe....as long as the users who are on the end-to-end encryption are who they say they are and are not a compromised account via phishing. Do you see why the NSA warned against using this? And why they advised to use it only for non-classified material (not for classified as some seem to suggest). And if you believe that the information leaked to the reporter, that begs the question as to why anyone would consider an up-coming military strike of any kind as "unclassified"!?!?!? That's just sloppy operational security and Hegseth should have his head handed to him.

On a side note, Signal also only works if you bother to make sure you have the right people on the communication thread.

Additional note about using Signal, it is an open source program....why would you use that in a professional capacity when you already have secured and encryption programs and equipment in place!?!?!

I always like when people say they take full responsibility for something and nothing happens to them. Going all the way back to the Reagan and the Arms for Hostages scandal.

Yes.

Sure.

Shrug...

I'll leave it up to the people involved to determine if something is classified or not.

That's just sloppy operational security and Hegseth should have his head handed to him.
You are welcome to your opinion.

On a side note, Signal also only works if you bother to make sure you have the right people on the communication thread.
Not so. Even if someone who shouldn't be in the chat isn't supposed to be in the chat, Signal is working as it should.

Additional note about using Signal, it is an open source program....why would you use that in a professional capacity when you already have secured and encryption programs and equipment in place!?!?!
Again, you are welcome to your opinion.

All these excuses from the same people.

Who is going to take responsibility for using Signal for official government communications to begin with?
CISA? Whomever was in charge of that in 2024?

Hard to overhype the fact that it was against policy too discuss this stuff on their in the first place,
. . . and I'm going to let all that sort itself out, rather than sky is falling, running around with hair on fire, for no other purposes than being used as a hyper partisan political attack.

they were so careless that they included a reporter with no security clearance,
Yes, that was very careless of them. That it wasn't was never an argument from me.

and then they lied to Congress about it.
This yet to be determined.

I'm not even giving your whataboutism the time of day.
Of course not. But equal application of the law is all about what you are wrongly calling 'whataboutism'.

. . . and I'm going to let all that sort itself out, rather than sky is falling, running around with hair on fire, for no other purposes than being used as a hyper partisan political attack.
Which is exactly what you said about Hillary Clinton's situation........oh wait.
Yes, that was very careless of them. That it wasn't was never an argument from me.

This yet to be determined.
No, the texts have in fact been released. GABBARD and a few others did in fact lie to Congress.

There is zero doubt about that.

I don't know what Gabbard or the others stated to congress today, so I can't judge if they did, or more likely didn't, lie to congress or not.
We'll have to see how that develops further.

There is zero doubt about that.
I'm sure that if Gabbard or the others stated to congress today that the sky was blue, and some left leaning pundit claimed it wasn't so, you'd be accusing them of the same thing.
