Mike Johnson Says ICE Shooting a Priest Doesn’t Cross the Line

I don't do clown show - stick to serious questions.

{“What this clipped video doesn’t show is that these agitators were blocking an ICE vehicle from leaving the federal facility—impeding operations,” McLaughlin wrote in a lengthy statement on social platform X.

“Over and over again, law enforcement ordered these agitators to move off of federal property so the vehicle could move. Law enforcement verbally warned these agitators that they would use force if they did not move and stop impeding operations. They did not comply,” she added.

McLaughlin accused demonstrators of throwing rocks, bottles and launching fireworks at the law enforcement agents on the roof. However, in the recorded clip, Black could be seen gazing at officers with open hands prior to being shot by a pepper ball. }

Great. Show us that when black was shot by the pepper ball, he was actively preventing an ice vehicle.

Are you suggesting that the guy who took the pepper ball was seriously injured or killed?
Holy cow dude. NO.

Its against Department policy and against the law because it CAN cause serious injury. You crossed out the part that told you that. Remember that?

"[*]Known risk of injury: Striking someone in the head with a pepper ball or similar projectile is known to cause serious harm, including skull fractures, brain injury, permanent blindness, and even death. A 2017 study found that 15% of people hit by kinetic impact projectiles, like pepper balls, suffered permanent injuries, with 3% of victims worldwide dying.

(You crossed that part out)

"deploying a weapon in a way that risks serious injury or death against a non-violent individual is typically unconstitutional."

"Law enforcement is expected to use force in a way that is proportional to the threat. Less-lethal munitions should not be used as punishment or to disperse non-violent protesters."

I disagree. Being soft on out of control protests is one of the causes we are spiraling downhill as a nation.

I see. You play follow the leader instead of thinking as a leader.

Wow. "Only?" I see you are another person limited to binary thinking.

Not wanting the authorities to shoot people who are offering no threat in the head with pepperballs is not being soft protests it's simply having some semblance of empathy and perspective which is something you clearly lack.
Trump and Ice are using bully tactics and illegal force and you champion those all the way and you wonder why some people call them both fascist?

A country should be ruled by consent not with an iron fist and threat of violence.

Are you suggesting that the guy who took the pepper ball was seriously injured or killed?

Does that mean I am free to assault you as long as I don't seriously injure or kill you?
What if I just kidnap you as ice has been doing?
Is that also OK as long as I don't kill you?

If the got shot, they were doing illegal actions.

Ice has repeatedly enforced laws on the books that law enforcement has not been using. That have taken a zero tolerance approach. After all this time, any protester not knowing this is a moron.

We should not forget that Lawfare was first used against president Trump in a relentless manner, and all you to the left kept cheering.

How does it feel now when our president does the same against the left? Yoiu think it's unfair? Well maybe you should have thought it was unfair the way lawfare was used against him. And he is till standing. What does that tell you?

I don't approve of the extent to which he has taken revenge, but is a dark way. It is very satisfying to the the moron authoritarian left get what they have deserved for decades now.

I'm sorry if you cannot understand why. I could try to relay my thoughts as to the complexity of this, but I am not good at expressing matters that get as complicated as this does.

The left does not have the consent of the right to have violence and lawbreaking in their protests.

A federal judge has ruled on this question. The ruling placed restrictions on what law enforcement could fire, when, and from what position and did so in reaction to the assault on the Presbyterian pastor.

"A judge in Illinois has temporarily blocked federal agents from using certain types of force and crowd-control measures against protesters, after video of a pastor being repeatedly shot by pepper balls during a demonstration outside at an ICE facility near Chicago drew widespread outcry.

...
The judge’s order, which applies to the entire Northern District of Illinois, blocks federal agents from firing various types of less-lethal projectiles and chemical irritants and from “using force, such as pulling or shoving a person to the ground, tackling, or body slamming an individual.”

"The judge also laid out specific protections for journalists covering the protests, blocking federal agents from arresting members of the press unless there is 'probable cause to believe that the individual has committed a crime'.”

A judge cannot legalize trespass.

No one asked him to. He can stop agents from shooting down from the roof at pastors praying, however. And he has now done so. He made it explicit.

"Reverend David Black of Chicago’s First Presbyterian Church 'stood in the street offering prayers' and urging ICE officers to repent, when he was repeatedly struck in the face by masked agents standing on top of the ICE facility, according to the lawsuit and video taken during the protest.
Black was 'visibly attired in clerical garb' when 'ICE snipers fired,' the lawsuit said. 'Moments later he was doused with chemical spray that ICE agents directed at his face.'

Video obtained by CNN shows the pastor near the building with his arms outstretched when a cloud of smoke erupts from an explosion by his head, and he drops to the ground. Other protesters rushed to his aid and surrounded him. Another video shared with CNN shows masked agents pushing Black as he walks back and is then pepper sprayed in the face from close range.

In his first television interview since the incident, Black told CNN’s Erin’s Burnett a large group of federal officers then 'rushed out of the gate and began to shove us' describing their behavior was 'indiscriminate' and 'vicious.'

Black said federal officers dispensed 'a huge amount of chemical weapons,' adding, 'I was drenched from the crown of my head to the socks in my shoes.'"

Later in the interview the minister said,

“There were no ICE vehicles attempting to leave the facility, and I was standing to the side in a gesture of prayer and praying verbally for the ICE officers and those detained inside,” .

"The pastor insisted he and other protesters received 'no warning' and claimed he could hear the agents laughing as they fired shots from the roof, calling it 'deeply disturbing.'”

So, you defend shooting a pastor for simply standing slightly on the ice property?
You think those actions are fine and you wonder why people don't take you seriously?

Trump is the king of lawfare, he's used it his entire life against contractors who did work for him and he simply refused to pay.
Just take a look at why he doesn't get any votes in Atlantic City.

How about the guy who was dragged away by ice for simply being loud and calling them names?
It's on video and clearly shows he wasn't threatening or on their property so go ahead and try and polish that turd.

You clearly defend fascist tactics and are now amazed that people might think you may indeed be a fascist.
We all know that if Biden had taken these exact same actions you'd be up in arms and calling for his removal from office and arrest.

It's almost like some people don't think using what could have been lethal force is an acceptable way to handle someone standing ever so slightly on private land owned by the government.
Unless the pastor had superpowers and could compell the ice agents to jump from the roof by mere speech I fail to see how he was even a slight threat.

I'm an atheist and I'm standing up for the ability of this pastor to preach all he likes.

The guy was trespassing.he got hit with a pepperball. He gut up and off the driveway and back on to the sidewalk. He is fine. Legal.

I crossed out nothing. You did.

I didn't know you were involved in the hiring process.

Please tell us more of your experiences.

The hiring of these "agents" has been spoken of in the news and online: claims of the no age limits [substantiated by ICE's own documentation] and lack of training [no ICE sourced documentation but lent credence by video reports showing ICE agents performing in ways substandard to any policing I have first hand knowledgable of, IE; crowd control, de-escalation, understanding of laws being enforced, reduction of liability]. I would LOVE to see their manual of ops and their General Orders books.

For the record, I do not directly blame these agents. Barring the odd duck, law enforcers in the field are only as good as the totality of their vetting process, their training and the management of their progress once released into the wild. I blame those doing the hiring, those establishing what passes for training, and their supervision.

To be honest, all were waiting on now is for the Trump regime to start using real bullets.

They're already bombing the shit out of "some" innocent people off the coast of another country. They have no problem killing people.

The officer who shot him with the pepperball violated the law and department policy and should be held accountable right?

Review. I didnt cross out.

They are doing more than that, and you know it.

Stop the stupidity and address the real stuff.

Now the amplified yelling is actually illegal after certain hours. Noise ordinances you know. The people who live in the area are complaining every night and the snowflake Portland PD do nothing.

Still doesn't justify a pepper ball to the head.

Which foreigners are doing what you say they are?
Duh I don't know it's obvious and they do it in front of everyone but I'm going to pretend like I don't see.
Otherwise, how am I to understand your post?
I don't care if 80-year-old out of touch boomers don't understand my post you're probably don't understand much.

I used to have a history professor who, when someone out of touch as you might be made a questionable generalization about people as you did, would say, “Name three.”

Name three of these evil foreigners.
