In WW1 civilian casualties accounted for 10% of the total. WW2 took that number to 50%. Vietnam pushed the figure to 70%, and the casualty numbers for Iraq top out at 90% civilians. Even Saddam at his worst comes a distant second.
Number of Victims
According to The New York Times, "he [Saddam] murdered as many as a million of his people, many with poison gas. He tortured, maimed and imprisoned countless more. His unprovoked invasion of Iran is estimated to have left another million people dead. His seizure of Kuwait threw the Middle East into crisis. More insidious, arguably, was the psychological damage he inflicted on his own land. Hussein created a nation of informants — friends on friends, circles within circles — making an entire population complicit in his rule".[9] Others have estimated 800,000 deaths caused by Saddam not counting the Iran-Iraq war.[10] Estimates as to the number of Iraqis executed by Saddam's regime vary from 300-500,000[11] to over 600,000,[12] estimates as to the number of Kurds he massacred vary from 70,000 to 300,000,[13] and estimates as to the number killed in the put-down of the 1991 rebellion vary from 60,000[14] to 200,000.[12] Estimates for the number of dead in the Iran-Iraq war range upwards from 300,000.[15]
I think not. So far as we know the socialist bath party under saddam is the greatest mass murderer of the 21st century.

Saddam killed hundreds of thousands of people, a lot with the support of the United States. The Alliance ended in August of 1990, well after a lot of those crimes were committed. He fell out of favor because he invaded Kuwait.
Naw, we need to give him a fair trial, then we'll shoot him.Let's forget about a trial, and just take him out behind the courthouse and shoot him.
"The U.S. had provided assistance to Saddam Hussein in the war with Iran, but with Iraq's seizure of the oil-rich emirate of Kuwait in August 1990 the United States led a United Nations coalition that drove Iraq's troops from Kuwait in February 1991." -WikipediaLink to us "supporting" this.

Anyway, I take it danarhea was joking? Props to jamesrage. Why is this news? Moore can't post him bail because he was denied bail. I'm sure lots of people would want to bail him out.
Not only am I old enough to serve, I have served many times. BTW I think the quote on your sig is especially apt for this thread. Did you get it from Moore-on's website?Y'know X Factor, from your posts, the thing I am struggling with is believing that you are old enough to be on a jury. I'm not yet, and I think I am heaps more mature than you.
I know I am late to the game, stupid finals, but from what I have read about the Assange trial it seems to be more or less BS. I still think it is weird that Moore is paying for Assange's bail when the trial isn't even in the U.S.
Bail was set at $378,840. Moore is only one of many supporters of the rule of law, who have contributed. Some others are even American too!
Really. What was Saddam Hussein. Are you saying no Iraqis were killed during his reign?
In the decades or so preceding the war far fewer Iraqis were killed by Saddam than were killed in the war.
Not according to wiki.
Your response really shows the patriotism on your part, congratulations!!
We do, it's why many of us demand the ultimate price for taking human life. As for shooting Assange, that was a joke, although I support capital punishment for more crimes than just murder, but I understand why we don't do it.Shoot him for a pretty ridiculous crime that only is illegal in Sweden? Damn, I thought most Conservatives valued human life...
You think MM approaches things with maturity? He's just a pimple on the butt of American society.Do you think you could approach this with SLIGHTLY more maturity?

Ass pimples are a lot like MM movies, really annoying and not as rare as they should be.Who gets pimples on their ass?
What I've seen is that "alleged" usually means guilty.
.........and just how many under saddam's regime? Just sayin'.
It doesn't? That would be pretty compelling evidence to me.
The physical evidence in this case (semen) would not prove that he raped the women. For the simple fact that the women admit that they had consensual sex.
But he's opposed the American machine of war, doesn't that make him guilty until proven more guilty?
