Why is it "logical" to accept Dunn's word for anything? His actions following the incident certainly don't make him seem trustworthy.
You miss the point of the cartoon.Ummm... No.
SYG is not the problem. As I have posted before you have a far greater chance of being killed by a cop wrongfully than a CCW holder.
You miss the point of the cartoon.
The irony comes from the murdered black teens who "stand their ground" by being in the ground.

I think the SYG laws should not take the place of common sense .I think the two can coexist.
The fact that there are laws on the books that grant lethal authority based on how one "feels" is a recipe for legalized murder... especially racism motivated murder.I think the SYG laws should not take the place of common sense .I think the two can coexist.
Most of whom were put there by other black teens. You miss the point of the cartoon.

The Dunn case is a perfect example of that.
Dunn believed that under Florida state law all he had to do, to justify this murder, was to say he "felt threatened" and the prosecution would have a hard time proving that he didn't.
He mis-calculated the jury's good common sense this time ...but these stupid cowboy, shoot first ask questions later, laws need to change.
Regardless of the circumstances, anyone who perpetrates a homicide should have to prove there was a threat to their life.
Right now that is backwards in many states.
My premise is that if Florida didn't have a Stand Your Ground law in the first place then Dunn would probably left his gun in the glove box and kept his window closed. The key there is "Dunn believed that under Florida" which as he found out is not the case.
As I have pointed out many times you are at a greater risk to be wrongfully shot or killed by police than a CCW holder.
Police Officers Three Times More Likely to Murder Than Concealed Carry Permit Holders - Police Officers Three Times More Likely to Murder Than Concealed Carry Permit Holders
Are you three times more likely to be murdered by a cop than a concealed carrier? - Are you three times more likely to be murdered by a cop than a concealed carrier? - Bearing Arms
Texas study: Concealed carry permit holders commit less than 1% of the crimes. - Texas study: Concealed carry permit holders commit less than 1% of the crimes.
Now the 3 times is actually "shoddy statistics" in that it is a conservative estimate.
So your example does not apply to legal CCW holders on a grand scale. They are responsible overall, not just in Texas for less than 1% of all crime.
The facts just don't support your premise.

He saw Zimmerman get away with it and thought he could, too.
Zimmerman did not "get away with" anything. He legitimately defended himself as was upheld by the courts. Huge difference.
disagree

And may have been dead himself. My premise is that if Florida didn't have a Stand Your Ground law in the first place then Dunn would probably left his gun in the glove box and kept his window closed.
Yep, that is a liberal mantra..."RUN!!!!"My premise is that if Dunn truly felt his life was in imminent danger, he would have shifted into gear and backed up or gone forward to avoid the threat, rather than reaching over to the glove box, taking out his weapon, possibly chambering a round, aiming, and shooting.
Which do you think would have been a faster way to avoid death?
Yep, that is a liberal mantra..."RUN!!!!"
And may have been dead himself.
Far from it missy. And I don't give two ****s what your gun ownership resume is, the fact that your prevailing instinct is to retreat makes me wonder why you have one. But its your own business I guess. I'll keep watch to see where you line up on 2nd amendment issues in the future. As a firm supporter of the 2A and a cc permit holder, you now look very very silly.
Yes, I have trained very carefully in order to use my 9mm in self-defense and I dont care HOW clear the threat or big an asshole....I will retreat every time if I can.
Case in point: Michael Dunn. Need another one? George Zimmerman. Doesnt matter that he got off....his life is ruined.
Need more: every single gun owner that was justified in using their guns to protect themselves or their homes and STILL lost their homes and/or tens of thousands of $$$ in court costs having to defend themselves.
Yes, you answered like a man, beating his chest. And made all men look bad, if one were to generalize. (Which I wont.) You sound like someone that would end up just like Michael Dunn.

By the by, you seem awfully quick to lump me in with your caricature of Dunn without ever having met me. That points more to your looking silly that your irrational outburst here.
