McCain Tells Ellen DeGeneres: You Shouldn’t Have The Right To Get Married

Listen I am a gay man from a major metropolis who builds bicycles, keys hummers and worked for Obama. I spent the night out at a place called Wooden Shoe books which sells activist zines and indigenous art for charitable purposes watching a film about how Israeli policy is creating a new Apartheid. I don't eat red meat, have a list of brands on my refrigerator that no one in the apartment is allowed to buy from and have two fish named Trotsky and Zinoviev.

I have the liberal cred, ok?

Rosie is a repulsive person.

Can't I just blame Reagan?

well...obviously the Soviets were forced to such devious tactics by the underhanded and insurmountable nature of capitalism, so yes, Reagan's ultra-reactionary hyper-nationalistic strategy forced the otherwise morally impeccable humanist Soviet Union to behave so poorly.

So yes, Reagan is at fault.

I'll also accept Margaret Thatcher, Nixon, Eiesenhower, LBJ...

you know, whoever.

I disagree because Rosie in someways is like a kid herself! Did you ever watch her talk show and the way she just loves toys? Plus she likes to do crafts!

I bet Anne Hache does not even know her way around some crayons, paper and a glue gun. :rofl

Honestly I do not understand such extreme hate for Rosie and am not crazy about the term bull dyke being tosses around on this thread because some people still use this as a hate term.

Kali you can't be serious......Rosie is hated by liberals because she pulls the rest of us liberals with her. We don't all believe George Bush was responsible for 9/11 or that there is some anti-gay conspiracy in America. We're not all rabidly anti-gun or rabidly anti-death penalty. She's a drama-queen liberal. The liberal equivalent of a conservative simpleton. She doesn't rely on facts or logic. She just speaks and then gets smacked around for it.

also she has the most unbearable rhetorical method.

Seriously. People crack on Noam Chomsky as being anti-American but this guy at least is a scholar who's done his homework and has formulated an opinion based on his studies. Rosie just talks. She just repeats talking points a-la Kevin James.

Celebrity gossip juicy celebrity rumors Hollywood gossip blog from Perez Hilton Blog Archive We Like Her, But…

According to a new poll by Parade magazine, 44% of Americans think Rosie O'Donnell is the most annoying celeb out there.

Paris Hilton came in second with 24%, followed by Ann Coulter (16%), Heather Mills McCartney (12%) and Perez Hilton (4%).

America hates her.

On other news, Perez Hilton is annoying. I think he should be executed for fashion crimes. Pink doesn't go with EVERYTHING.

It always amuses me when people compare sexual deviancy to race or gender,As though choosing to have sex with someone of the same gender is somehow equal to something you can't choose like skin color or gender.

How does that deviancy harm you?

Who cares what they do? It makes no more difference than if they were, say, left handed.

NCFY's posts in the last few pages of this thread have completely made my morning. Hardest I've laughed in a while.

Appreciate it.

I think McCain is saying things slightly differently than he used to, but it's the same approach and I like his approach. He and I differ on the question of the principle of gay marriage, as I support it. Legislatively we completely agree. All of the legal and practical benefits of marriage should be available to homosexual couples, but the marginal value of calling it marriage is solely in terms of social acceptance, and the government has no right to be telling the public what they should accept socially. If there is going to be a governmental institution of marriage, which I really don't think there necessarily should be (albeit an indiscriminate legal institution of some other name would be fitting), it has to reflect the social consensus and in this situation my views don't represent the social consensus.

I think I agree with what you are saying, but to me the government has and does designate what is socially acceptable, we are a society that has this governing body and they address and act on matters of morality all the time. Marriage is a moral thing to begin with, it acts as a means to keep families together, and two people to remain committed to each other. Right now it's saying one man, one woman who aren't closely related can marry each other. That's got to be the government telling us what is right and what isn't. The government is all about laws and laws generally have a moral twist to them.

To me the time is coming where people want a change in the marriage laws. I say, so be it! I don't see the big deal. Change is what the US is all about.

McCain is really just one step away from changing marriage, but his approach would take longer and probably end up being more complicated legally.

According to you she is a repulsive person and am sure that plenty of people (not me) may feel the same way about you simply based on your sexuality.

Speak for yourself and refrain from trying to speak for all libs because I happen to be one and know plenty who do disagree with you! It makes me sad that you do not feel that Rosie should not have a Voice! It makes me wonder if there is some hidden sexism going on here because gawd for ****ing bid a strong woman should speak her mind-no matter how ****ed those views may be- on any given subject!

And honestly people that wish to call her out of her name, make fun of her weight, etc. are really doing the same kind of thing they claim to dislike about her. But whatever. Hypocrites abound in this world.

The funny thing about this is most people I know cannot stand Perez Hilton. Are you a fan? Because he is just like Rosie but happens to have a penis! :rofl

right...and they're wrong too

I don't hate her because she's a lesbian I hate her because she claims to speak for all homosexuals and liberals...and is an asshole.

Rosie is NOT like all liberals or gays.

She's a fair representation of big mouthed douchebags.

I think that's offensive to douchebags.

Perez is ok. I don't like that he's biased towards certain celebrities. He gives Paris overly favorable coverage, and often doesn't cover negative things about her. I found it particularly frustrating during the whole Team Paris/Team Nicole thing, because I was on the other side.

I think he's unfair to Rumer Willis. She is unattractive...but who cares. Perez is constantly ****ting on her for no reason. Rumer Willis isn't famous. She's nobody...why is she even being covered?

I strongly suspect she pissed him off in person at some event and he's being vengeful.

He hates Avril Lavigne...but everyone hates her, and she legitimately sucks terribly, so that's a little more reasonable. Same deal with his weird feud with Ashlee Simpson.

He gives slightly more coverage to Amy Winehouse then I think is reasonable...I mean I love Amy, but there were periods where like she was the blog.

He dresses terrible...looks terrible, but whatever he's the press, they aren't supposed to look good.

He obviously desperately wants to be famous, but who doesn't? Occasionally he makes really awkward and uncomfortable derision regarding his own appearance. I don't like that because he seems to do it in a way that says "look, I half-heartedly called myself fat, so I'm buying a ticket for being dick to everyone else". I totally hate people that think insulting themselves allows them to insult others.

Honestly if there was some other blog to read I would, but really the only game in town is his blog or TMZ. I do read TMZ, and occasionally read the million other celebrity gossip blogs out there, but they're usually just regurgitations of whatever Perez is saying. Only Perez and TMZ get the real scoops, so that's basically what you have to read. And whatever you want to say about Perez, he's more entertaining then boring bland TMZ.

Who the hell is Perez Hilton?

no, gay men don't continue to buy toys after maturity.

excuse me, Hummers, SUVs, Jet Skis, huge entertainment systems and other "mature" male purchases.

Men don't have pet gerbils. They don't play dress up. They don't get excited about parades.

Yeah yeah. Gay marriage civil rights equal union blah blah blah. What I want to know is who the hell would marry Ellen DeGeneres anyways? Ann Heche left that broad for some d***. She got with Ellen and soon afterward said "Hell with this...I want a man again".

Scared straight indeed.

This response is late as hell... But Ellen is kinda hot. I wish shed go straight for me.
