There might be a group among which "dumbest of them all" is a tough call, but she's in that group.

We can start with her current motion to vacate. What is the next step? Who does she want as speaker? Has anyone agreed to run for this position? Does she have the votes needed to confirm this person?

I think as much as I don't like Johnson for his election denying and coup plotting, he probably just earned the last 7.5 months of his speakership.

Politically, strategically, it's crazy. I don't know what she's thinking. No question. I'm hoping that no one else plays along, including democrats. Not sure it's stupidity as much as a desire to cause chaos and/or draw attention to herself.

But I'm sorry, I've spent too long in the same state as Shiela Jackson Lee to give anyone else that particular crown.
 
Why the support for Putin ? Even Trump supports Putin less than a lot of Trump supporters?

But doing what’s right, or even normal, is not how the Republican Party, locked in the grip of Donald Trump, rolls these days. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) — who, like others on the far right, parrots Kremlin propaganda — has already filed a “motion to vacate” that could remove Johnson from the job if she calls for a vote on it.

“If I operated out of fear over motion to vacate, I would never be able to do my job. Look, history judges us for what we do. This is a critical time right now,” Johnson told reporters last week. “I can make a selfish decision and do something that is different, but I’m doing here what I believe to be the right thing. I think providing aid to Ukraine right now is critically important.”

What convinced him, Johnson noted, was “I really do believe the intel and the briefings that we’ve gotten” — something that in itself is heresy these days in the GOP, given how Trump has savaged the credibility of the “deep state.”...
 
I see a pattern with some of the more far right leaning GOP House members like MTG. If one does not get their way even though it may be a minority opinion, the leader has to go.

My take, maybe the minority in the GOP need to go.

She'll probably try and she'll probably get the other Putin useful idiots like Gaetz and Gosar to go along with it. But since Johnson did the right thing and allowed the vote on the Ukraine aid, enough Democrats will come to his aid to save his speakership.

Something I've been confounded by for the last decade or so. Up until then, I more or less believed that facts would bring many if not most of the off-the-cliff lemmings back to their senses.

I was wrong, in part because I failed to foresee the Republican Party's transformation into a personality cult.

I’m not sure it’s a personality cult. When Trump isn’t here, I don’t think they will abandon absurdity. He just coalesces it somehow. When he is gone, it will be scattered. But still there.
