Man plotted to kill and eat children, feds say - CNN.com

Sometimes there are stories that just stun me and this is one of them. Another example of a vile person (and the other two convicted already) and what dangers can await children out in the world. Truly sickening if you ask me.

Left unsaid in this story is how this internet chatting lead to federal charges. Are we actually paying federal agents to monitor (participate in?) internet chat rooms? It is no wonder that we "lack resources" to locate and deport illegal aliens if we assign federal LEO's to chat on the internet.

So you would rather the feds not spend time trying to stop monsters like this, but instead keep an eye on Julio at the Home Depot? You're kidding right?

Good point!

It's a shame the feds are wasting precious resources going after law abiding citizens who want to do nothing more than merely capture, torture, kill, roast and eat young children

How many hours per monster identified does this "secret" snooping take? This is news because it is very, very, very rare, not because it happens all of the time. We could ignore all crimes below cannabalism and murder too, yet that makes little sense. Having laws that are not even attempted to be enforced is simply insane. Do you realize that we have 5K ICE field agents, a force the size of the Boston, MA and Baltimore, MD police forces combined that is assigned to patrol the entire USA?

Yet again, the article doesn't list how many man hours were put into this, so your assumption that it is somehow taking from catching Julio at the Home Depot is just your assumption.

Again, I'd rather the feds do this and catch real monsters especially if they are going across state lines.

I'm sure if your daughter or son was eventually killed by this maniac, you would be happy to know that 10 border crossings were stopped instead right?

Another good point!

Because walking past an imaginary line causes far more damage than abusing children.

OK, please show me how many such "monsters" are caught each year and how many federal man hours, per potential cannibal caught, are expended. This seems to be yet more justification for federal internet patrols, a really nice job if you can get it.

As soon as you show us where that information is readily accessible I will. Until then, I'm quite happy they caught these maniacs and I support them catching other maniacs as well. As soon as some border crosses go into this realm of evil, I support the feds going after them as well. However, border crossings on their own are a lower priority for me than some maniacs actively planning to kidnap, torture, sexually abuse, and then eat children. Sorry, guess my priorities are different than yours.

The "victim" count for this "monster" stands at zero, the potential victim count is naturally unlimited. This sounds a lot like the yellowcake sting that "saved America from a terrorist plot" that actually never existed until created on the internet by our agents. This is much like the gun control logic, we must get rid of all guns to keep 2% of the population, known to be dangerous yet allowed to walk freely among us, from having "easy access" to guns.

Another good point!

The feds should not have acted until after the law abiding citizen had the chance to actually eat the children...

...and the time to digest them

No illegal aliens commit crimes agianst children? Why have any border patrol or ICE agents at all? Let's convert them to chatroom monitors immediately. Child porn is the real threat to the U.S. the rest of DHS is dealing with minor stuff.

How many undocumented residents have eaten children? Please post the #'s

This story makes me sick to my stomach. Thank God this monster was caught before any children were killed, that we know so far. Can't make everyone happy I guess, either you are proactive and people bitch or it happens and people bitch.

Its probably computers doing the searching, with humans checking "hits".

Worse than people in many ways, but probably not a manpower drain.

There are task forces on every law enforcement level going after pedophiles on the internet. I'm sure that's how these idiots were uncovered.

That is exactly the argumet of NextEra for border jumprers, just leave them be until they actually do something "really" bad. It is definitely easier to sit and patrol the internet than to do many other LEO tasks, but I still question the return on investment of this technique.

A republican, no doubt. I hear they eat children.

2 people have already been convicted so this is a little more than "yellow cake". Sorry, but again, my priorities are different than yours. You would rather them watch border crossings than catching maniacs like this.

Naw liberals do too but only if they've been fed organic gluten free diets in a free range house.
Ha. I knew it. The hypocrisy of it all....BTW, how does one go about having a free range house? Is it like a motor home, or what?

Considering that your example "monster" as eaten exactly zero children, you have provided none yet either.

Crime committed by illegal aliens is not rare.
