A woman discovered her house had been broken into by a burglar who hung out her washing, put her shopping away and cooked a meal on her stove.
Damian Wojnilowicz, 36, was jailed for 22 months at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday for carrying out the unusual burglary in Monmouthshire on 16 July.
The woman said she was was left too scared to stay in her own home after returning from work to find items had been moved in the garden and her recycling bin had been emptied.
The burglar left her a note saying: "Don't worry, be happy, eat up and scratch."
Well that's certainly weird! 😂 No mention of taking anything.

Wouldn’t work in most jurisdictions in the US where the elements of the crime of “burglary” requires two things be true. The 1) illegal entry or remaining and 2) to commit a crime therein.

You have the criminal trespass, you don’t have a crime therein, unless it’s illegal to do someone’s household chores in England.

There is more to this than simple bad action with good intent. Me thinks either a history of some sort of pathology or harassing disorder where a message to the defendant to cease and desist was required to drive a point home.

So the crime therein wouid be the “harassment” of the victim(s).

22 months seems a bit harsh unless he had priors. I wonder if he was sent for assessment first.

I mean, if you're gonna have a home invasion, I suppose that's the one you want. That guy was busy, reading the full list of things he did.
Does sound like mental illness.

It would creep me out a bit but the guy didn't really mean any harm.
Back in the day when I was single and barely hanging on, a guy came to my door asking for work. After I explained to him that I couldn't pay much, we agreed on a price to have him mow the yard with my lawnmower. So one morning, I came home from night shift and the dude is literally sitting in my driveway trimming the edges with SCISSORS. Desperation makes you do all sorts of things.

Decent people get down on their luck, too. My housekeeper has been homeless much of the time she's been coming by (I did get her housing for 9 months). She lost her full time gig because of chemo. I'm her last regular customer. Loyal that way. She does a good job, but she has a hard time making appointments for social services.
