Adam Bies, an anti-vaxxer enraged by the FBI's raid of Mar-a-Lago, has been arrested after making threats against the FBI. On August 10, he allegedly posted numerous threats on social media, saying that he hoped to kill more FBI agents before he dropped and that “Every single piece of [expletive] who works for the FBI in any capacity, from the director down to the janitor who cleans their [expletive] toilets deserves to die. You’ve declared war on us and now it's open season on YOU.”.

Not so many years ago, it would have been hard to predict the way the self-styled law-and-order party of the GOP would wind up with some of their major politicians assailing the FBI for carrying out a peaceful search of a suspected felon's property, with a proper warrant. But that's where we are. Without evidence, several top Republicans have accused the FBI of carrying out political retribution, rather than trying to enforce the law, and that has, predictably, stirred up violent anger in the conservative base.
