Yeah you've been touting Werth's 'worth' in the Nats clubhouse as a leader for a few years now.. But 1) Harper has had plenty of problems with other Nat players. And 2).. Nats for 7 years of Harper never won a playoff series..

So in other words Werth's 'opinions' on Philly, or DC really mean little....

As you wish.

The NBA is stupid with players like LeBron yapping that they want this guy or that guy to play on his team...

But Harper's comments may have even surpassed the nonsense that is going on in the NBA..

I don't think there's anything wrong with players in any league talking to other players about anything.

There’s nothing wrong with players talking to one another privately, but when they openly pitch for certain players to join their team through the media, it gives a bad look.

Not sure why you think that.

Don't have to be Mets fan to realize how GREAT of a pitcher Seaver was.. He was an all-time great.. 1 of the dumbest moves the Mets ever made was trading Seaver, but that's unimportant now.. This is really sad news. All the best to him and his family..

Hall of Famer Seaver diagnosed with dementia..

Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seaver has been diagnosed with dementia and will retire from public life, his family announced on Thursday.

In a statement released by the Hall of Fame, Seaver's family expressed thanks for those who have supported the New York Mets great throughout his career and asked for privacy.

Seaver, 74, helped propel the Miracle Mets of 1969 to a World Series title. The right-hander, known as "Tom Terrific," won the Cy Young Award that year, and led the National League with 25 wins.

The Mets, who retired Seaver's No. 41 in 1988, are celebrating the 1969 team on June 29. They released a statement on Thursday saying they plan to honor Seaver even though he will not be able to attend the ceremonies.

The one-time Rookie of the Year was selected to the All-Star Game 12 times, led the league in strikeouts five times and won three Cy Young awards. He finished his career with 311 wins and 3,640 strikeouts.

Seaver also pitched for the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago White Sox, and finished his 20-year career with the Boston Red Sox in 1986. Seaver was a first-ballot Hall of Famer in 1992, receiving 98.8 percent of the vote.

Seaver's family says he will continue to work in the vineyard at his home in California.

Very sad to hear this.
Glad he can work in the vineyard at his home.
Hope to see him on TV this year.
50 years ago seems like it's gone by so fast.

20 days and counting -- except Oak/Sea in Japan 3/20-21 -- Monterrey and London also --
Top of the rotation pitchers are hitting 4 innings.
The # of one-pitch counts has stood out to me so far.

The DH is great. No one, in the history of baseball, has ever said “I can’t wait to watch the pitcher hit!”

But I often find the maneuvers around the pitcher's spot in the order to be among the most interesting aspects of a game. The DH makes baseball stupider. And it removes the balance of "players' justice" from the beanball equation.

The maneuvers around the pitcher batting are the number 2 thing that makes baseball boring, second only to the pitcher batting.

As I said, the DH makes baseball stupider. Thanks for illustrating my point.

Joe Maddon on NL vs AL rules re: the DH:

"Please make the American League use the pitchers to hit. It's a different game, it's an entirely different game -- it's a much more entertaining, interesting game [in NL]. If you want to watch people bludgeon each other, go ahead."

"I've always believed we have the most intellectually stimulating game of all where it's not too quick that you can't understand it. If you want to see fast, sit in the dugout. For those who think the game is too slow, sit in the dugout."

Joe Maddon is a great manager, but even he is wrong sometimes, as your quote illustrates.
