Major League Baseball 2017

I won't tell anyone.

Dodgers think they can touch Max and Gio. :lamo:lamo Nats problem will be getting by the Cubs. They should go R, L, R; Cubs will probably go L, R, L if they're smart.

Game 4 of the NLDS last year saw Kershaw go on 3 days rest last year against the Nats. If they'd have done that against the Cubs, with Kershaw 1, 4, 7 as in back in our day; Cubs would have been hard-pressed to win.

So, I run Max on 3 days rest in game 4 and Gio with 4 days rest in game 5 if needed, especially if game 1 is stress-free .

And anyone who thinks Yanks will waltz through HOU, KC and CLE is kidding themselves .

Lol. Yankess know how to win in the playoffs. HOU, KC, and CLEV combined have how many WS wins?

on an issue related to MLB-Pete Rose has filed a slander suit against the guy who constantly releases unsavory comments about Rose: this time Rose claims John Dowd has defamed him by claiming then 34 year old Pete Rose had sex with a girl under 16 (Ohio's age of consent is 16)

Judge dismisses just one count in Pete Rose's defamation suit against John Dowd | MLB | Sporting News

the Reds might actually welcome this news given how pathetic they have played -losing most of their games after the all-star break. This is what all the baseball fanatics are talking about in Cincinnati now, not the losing tailspin of the home team

Glory Days >>>> Bruce Springsteen; I figured I'd get your attention; btw, HOU has the worst caught stealing % in MLB; when the playoffs start, all teams play National League ball; the Senior Circuit; real baseball;

What's with the stupidity of AL teams carrying 12 pitchers with only 4 bench players ??

There's a reason Rose is divorced. Back in my day, those guys had a groupie in every away city .

when you look up the definition of "sleazy" in an Ohio dictionary you either get a picture of Larry Flynt or Pete Rose

Yankees are built for the playoffs. They have the deepest bullpen in the MLB, a great catcher, heady position players.... the only thing that's missing is DJ.

24 years ago, I took my wife to a birthday dinner at Jeff Ruby's floating restaurant down on the Ohio River-a popular place for celebrities (the late great Waterfront) to get some face time. at the time I had a Jeff Ruby VIP card and I tended to patronize his places-especially the nearer (to where I lived when I was single-) famous Precinct. well after dinner we were waiting for our car and a spectacular 20 something babe showed up in a 120K Porsche dressed in what looked like a silk camisole and super short shorts. I looked at one of the valets and said DAMN. and he looked at me and laughed and said-I don't know WTF she is doing here tonight-the Reds are out of town. and I looked at him sort of slightly confused and he said-hey how do you think she got that car? A guy I used to know when he worked at the local target range happened to be there too-he was now a taxi driver and was constantly at that place. I asked him about the babe and he sort of smiled and said-that girl worked hard for everything she has and made some thinly veiled insinuations about Reds players.

As my Dad used to say, an old Boston Braves fan, we shall see what we shall see.

You have to win your division first, and you'll be getting every team's 1, 2, 3 starters now. If you do, you'll get either CLE or KC; both of whom have written the book on deep bullpens.

I left my baseball mag at home, now on vacation in South Dakota, so I can't dial up schedules as fast .

Yeah, but we've won a few in the last 108 years. The Cubs will now go back to their normal spot in the pecking order.

The irrelevant franchise that beat your Dodgers last year !!

Quintana, Arrieta, Lester

Outside of 2015, he hasn't been special. No team fears Arrieta. He reminds me of Esteban Loaiza.

Nats have a far tougher road to get to the WS than the Yanks, with CHC and then LAD looming. Best hope you don't have to face Max and Gio .

Gio? Lol Shaking in my boots!

One-hitter tonight; great year so far; your left-handed hitters will certainly take him seriously; Max who ?

That's because your team never got far enough to meet him.

You win one world series and all of sudden you think you are the ****.

Do it 10 more times and then we can talk.

Recently IMO the Yankees biggest problems in the playoffs is the stadium they play in. The New Yankee Stadium is a joke, it's a little league park. So when the Yanks do make the playoffs and have to play good opponents with good pitching, in a normal stadium the Yanks don't hit nearly as much, so they lose. They fatten up at home during the regular season on poor teams, with poor pitching in a small park. But that formula doesn't work in the playoffs.

Now this year if they make the playoffs they seem to have enough pitching to hold their opponents to less runs at home, and on the road. Pitching is the key.. And they now have a good BP and 3 good starters, that might be enough. We'll see.

How many current Yankees have ever been in a playoff game?

Jacoby Ellsbury, Matt Holliday, CC Sabathia, Aroldis Chapman, Brett Gardner, Jamie Garcia, I'd say a lot.
