I got this partially right. McGregor was much more controlled than what I thought he'd be but the fight didn't turn until he was tired and then Mayweather went after him after he couldn't defend himself very well. Pretty piss-poor, imo, for someone to run so much when he was in his own element.
The event is over and more or less went the way many thought it would.
I hear the estimated purse for Mayweather is around 300 million. How is that possible? I know ringside seats were $10,000 but still $300 million for one fight. I guess I am weak in understanding the economics of pay for view. That is something like the total salary cap for a season of two NFL teams. It blows me away.
Aww someone mad
I dont know, are you mad that someone who has been convicted 3 times of woman beating keeps getting off with a slap on the wrist?
Money talks. Why do you hate capitalism when Black people use it to their advantage?

So if you have money hitting women is cool with you?
Wow! Amazing you got to see that, Slick!
When I met Carmen Basilio, he was a worked-over old man who couldn't keep his hands to himself when female reporters or photogs were around. But he had a certain old-school charm. Even the women he pawed kinda liked him.
Once his fighting days were over, he retired to Rochester, NY (where I live) and worked at the Genesee bottling plant for a bit, before he started getting invites to sporting banquets and whatnot. He died like 5 years ago.
Oh, and you got to see Robinson too. I GUESS THAT'S KINDA NICE
If you have money, you can probably get away with killing one. See OJ and Robert Blake for just two of many examples of that.
If you're cool with that, that's on you. For most people with a conscience they get mad when the justice system doesn't work.

1) Robinson---Lost middleweight title to pumped up welterweight Basilio. Still one of the greats, though. These old guys had an unbelievable number of fights.
2) Duran---My favorite at one time. Broke my heart when he quit against Leonard.
3) Salvatore Sanchez---I remember this guy and didn't realize he was only 23 when he died.
Floyd has always been a careful fighter.
Watching it this AM, I thought he should have gone in for the KO around the sixth round not waited until the tenth. Fight was over after five.
It looked to me like MayW just wanted to be sure McG had no power left in his arms. Doing that makes sense. I guess. He completely owned him in rounds nine and ten.
Right, but he should have been completely owning him from the first round, not waiting until the person just tired out before actually doing something. It was his own sport and he ran and turned his back often.
McGregor's post fight explanation. Was actually quite humble and nice believe it or not.

Christ, with MMA rules, McGregor would have Mayweather in a rear naked choke in about 8 seconds.
They all that I'm aware of, had cover charges I wasn't going to pay.
I think Conner coming out and displaying much more skill than what just about everyone thought he would have played a major role in that. Mayweather likely intended to test Conner and then either adopt an aggressive strategy or a more conservative strategy of tiring him out. When Conner came out early showing good head movement, the ability to counter with some combos, and a very nice jab Mayweather decided to adopt the conservative strategy rather than take any chances.

What makes you think he wasn't? Maybe next time you go fishing you shouldn't use any bait on your hook.
Tire out? If he was the superior fighter he would not have tired out.
Had he hit as hard as many MMA fans claimed it would have been Floyd "tired out" and losing by TKO or KO.
Fact is Floyd was hitting hard than McGregor was. That's why he tired out. Not because he (McGregor) was punching a heavy bag for 3 minutes each 10 rounds. The heavy bag doesn't wobble your legs.
