You where the one who made the broad generalization, so don't even try and pass that off. "Libbos" did not latch onto anything here, any more than "connos" latched onto the idea of using this to attack "libbos". Only you did that...
The existance of this thread proves you wrong.
No. The existence of this thread shows that one person thinks something. That is all it takes to start a thread, one person.
There are plenty of Libbos who have jumped on the bandwagon. How's the ride?
He corrected himself, and then, as I understand it, later called his opponent to apologize.
He may have meant to say whore, it just doesn't look that way on the video.
So? Vincent Sheheen called Nikki Haley a whore in a campaign speech.
Actually he didn't but since it pushes your partisan agenda feel free to believe what is not based on fact.
There is a thought that how one jokes defines a person. I don't really adhere to it, but it isn't really about being offended alone.
I don't think he meant to say it, but, immediately following it, he laughed rather childishly about it. The point really is that it's an incident taken out of context, like this joke.
Not like y'all do. Man, you guys have turned this crap into an art form!
Would those that accidentally say what they really mean instead of what they meant to say fit in that category, too?
The people have been softened up enough with decades long charges of racism, sexism, etc, that they are now predisposed to believe anything negative a Republican might say. Any joke, no matter how mild, will be latched on to by their political opponents as an expose of how Republicans really are, and used as an example of their true nature and character. And despite this adolescent behavior people still buy into it, no matter how clean the record of the person being accused.Of course we do not have the context in which the comment was made. We do not have the benefit of body language or voice inflections or any other clue as to whether this was just pure humor appropriate for the setting or something that was offensive. I am NOT a Lindsay Graham fan and have not been for a long time now, but I get angrier and angrier at these remarks taken out of context and then played over and over and over for days, weeks, months to achieve as much mileage aka personal destruction out of them as possible. I don't care whether it is Lindsay Graham or Billy Graham, Harry Reid or Mother Teresa, Nancy Pelosi or Ghandi. Everybody deserves to be represented honestly and fairly. They all say enough legitimate stuff that can be criticized honestly and fairly without having to take what was intended as an innocent sound bite and blowing it all out of proportion.
