Are the liberals so scared that Trump is going to be re-elected, they want to see the US economy to collapse?
No media bias here, but NBC reporter Richard Engel and idiot Bill Maher want people to loss their jobs and have businesses close if it defeats Trump. They don’t care, they make millions a year.
These two idiots on Friday said they hoped an economic recession would happen in the US so Trump would not be re-elected.
Instead of wishing for a recession try going to the ballet box and vote him out of power if he is so horrible.
 
I think the more nuanced version is that some believe a recession is inevitable, due in some part to Trump's policies, and that it would be preferable to get it started before he's re-elected to enact more bad policy.
 
A recession is inevitable at some point anyway. If there is a recession, we'll just get told that it's fake news anyway.
 

To answer your question, only the stupid liberals...like the two you mentioned...will come right out and say they hope we have a recession. The non-stupid ones do it differently. They will say, "Of course, we don't want a recession." But then they'll turn around, make up **** to justify their prediction of a recession...and then blame Trump for it. (even though it hasn't happened, won't happen and even though the facts show that the economy is doing great)

These non-stupid liberals are much more dangerous than the stupid liberals.
 

By all appearances, and due to policies that every economic expert on earth agrees are imbecilic, the person who wants a recession is trump.
 
I lean European center left, and I can assure you that I definitely do not want a recession.

So, do you believe in magical libtard power or do you understand that liberals joking about how a recession will kill Trump's reelection chances is just so much pissing in the wind, whereas destructive reality TV show actions by a corrupt despot have real consequences in the real world.

According to our president, so does the main stream media. And we tried voting to not let him in but unfortunately the majority lost that vote.

If I quote a tRumper claiming America must remain white and Christian does that mean ALL so-called conservatives are racists???? How about a Republicant politician saying that???

How bizarre the politics of the fiscal conservatives to vilify attempts to reverse a conservative recession but during the post recession boom taht tRump takes credit for (but then again he takes credit for the sun rising everyday) run YUGE deficits.... :shock:

Be careful what you recommend- I do believe a solid majority of Americans will take your advice in 2020, but not just at the highest level- the boast of how many state houses are red seems to be in doubt... eace
 

It almost seems that way, doesn't it? Back in the day, conservatives were hoping Obama would flop, now it is liberals. Don't worry, sides will change again eventually. Unless we find out spine and demand more than the party 2 step.
 

It's more like they're hoping that the inevitable recession due to Trump's trade wars will happen before, and not after, the next election.
 

Economists have been predicting another recession for months now, and yes they will probably get one next year. I am sure trump and the fan club will try blaming the Dems and no one will buy it.
 
There are signs that the German and the UK economies are weakening, as is China's. Our economy, however, is still very strong- the strongest in the world, thanks to Trump. I hate to pop the lib's little balloon, but whatever.

To refine the statement- if those people hate the dark side of the America tRump panders to, uses to keep an 'energized' base. The sledge hammer diplomacy and mass murdering dictators he 'loves' turns these people's stomach….

Going to give you a quick debate lesson. Hope it helps you out.

1: When you mention a group of people, and use the words of 2 people(one of whom at lease does not even belong to the group) as evidence of what the group thinks or wants, you fail.
2: Claiming people say something, with no link to show what they said, you fail.

Recessions, like it or not, happen on a semi-regular basis. Business goes through a boom and bust cycle. The triggering mechanism may not always be the same, but the cycle continues.

I should think that anyone wishing to see a different face in the White House come January, 2021 would wish the recession to occur at such a time as to improve the chance of their wish becoming reality. That's quite a different thing compared to wishing for a recession itself. That's the province of short sellers in the stock market.

That said, economists* define a recession as two consecutive calendar quarters of negative GDP. That makes their definition a trailing indicator par excellence. It's entirely possible for that definition to show that a recession has occurred after it has ended. The definition does, however, lend itself to abstruse mathematical dissertations in learned peer-reviewed journals.

There's another way to look at recessions, though. It provides much more rapid identification. It's the unemployment curve. There's a good chart available at: U.S. National Unemployment Rate | MacroTrends

For the man in the street, the unemployment curve is a far better indicator, too. For the worker, a recession begins when jobs become harder to find. It ends when they're again readily available. It matters not which U curve is chosen. They're all the same shape and differ only in the ordinate numbering. They can spot a recession with 2-3 month's of data.

* Real economists, not the man who plays an economist on TV and now advises President of the United States of America Donald Trump.
