You guys are hilarious, except for a few irrelevant issues like gay marriage, the mainstream liberals and conservatives are very similar.Who cares whether Americans treat tems like "liberal" and "left-wing" as inter-changeable? Being left of mainstream America, to any degree, is too liberal for sanity and sensibility.
And let the world see liberals as a less offensive term than we do all they want. There's a reason no country more liberal than ours can compete with our economy...liberal policies are ineffective and economically suicidal.
It is far more accurate to perceive liberals as conservatives without personal responsibility, a job, family, or anything that might require them to live in reality or care about the consequences of their lunatic policies.

By no stretch of the imagination could you call the actual "liberal" political players like the Democrats leftwing even if some of the rank and file liberals are actually bourgeois progressives.

In europe it is much the same, there are little real differences between parties, beyond they perhaps represent slightly different parts of the ruling classes or have different plans for dealing with the crisis tendencies in capitalism.

Currently, the two main Section 8 programs are tenant-based vouchers and project-based vouchers.
A Public Housing Authority can choose to project-base up to 25% of its total vouchers, meaning that the vouchers are linked to a particular apartment. Eligible families pay 30% of their income while living in the apartment, but cannot take that voucher with them to another complex or private residence.
Under the tenant-based program, eligible families with a certificate or voucher find and lease a unit in the private sector and pay a portion of the rent (based on income, generally around 30%). The local housing authority pays the owner the remaining rent, subject to a cap referred to as "Fair Market Rent" (FMR) which is determined by HUD. The owner cannot charge a Section 8 tenant more than FMR, even if the owner does so for non-Section 8 tenants in similar units.

I am one person regardless to my party affiliation who is glad that poor in all colors can receive section 8. Economic crisis comes in all colors, and as a tax-payer its good to know that my tax $$$$ is being spent wisely. For once I see Stacie has stepped out of the Judges chamber, and is on the same level with us. Thanks Stacie for the valid information on Section 8. Along with section 8 there is a program for the low income that receives Social Security and SSI. People on this governmemt program pays 10% of the monthly rent, and the government pays the rest of the rental amount. As a Housing & Tenants Rights intake worker the only places that's free is shelters for the women with children,or single men and women who is homeless, and the staying time is limited in some cases. Some is allowed 90 days or some is allowed up to a year, and that depends on the situation. No matter if a person is a right-wing or left wing all humanitarian matters should come first.
