I said that I, as a liberal, definitely oppose the agendas of others on the left. Does that qualify as accepting viewpoint diversity? This thread is about disagreement in the left, in the Democratic Party. Does that qualify as accepting viewpoint diversity?
See, your mistake is in thinking that everyone on 'the left' must accept everyone else's opinion. That probably comes from being on the right where there's no differences to discuss because everyone agrees. What they agree on changes week to week but they all do agree.

Celebrities weighed in as well. Former “Two and a Half Men” star Jon Cryer claimed a "far left" position is necessary to counter an existential threat to humanity.

“I am #TooFarLeft because I believe that we cannot let greed cause the collapse of the ecosystem that supports all human life on earth,” he tweeted.

This is not the first time Obama has taken a stance against the leftward drift of the party or been on the receiving end of criticism for allegedly being too moderate.

During a discussion at the Obama Foundation Summit held at the Illinois Institute of Technology in October, Obama explained that the world is more complicated than people realize and urged politically active Americans to be practical if they want to be effective.

“This idea of purity and you're never compromised and you're always politically woke, and all that stuff, you should get over that quickly," Obama said.

There is no left flank in the Democrat Party.

And the left has never trusted Obama, a shallow, arrogant, conservative corporate war criminal.

But Obama IS a shrewd politician, and what he told the Democrats is true.

I've been saying it for months:

Gabbard or go home.
 
The main reason people talk about the "far left" here in the US as they do is because the US is such a right leaning country. Politically speaking, if you put a Bernie Sanders or an AOC and view their politics compared to the world at large, they'd be moderates, if not somewhat center right.

That's your inaccurate opinion. The truth is my time is to valuable to me to waste on someone that started off his response to this thread with a deflection. This thread has absolutely ZERO to do with Trump but you immediately invoked his name in your 5th word in your attempt to deflect. You didn't discus the article in the OP . Actually if you had reading comprehension you would see that I said Obama was a very adept politician and the Democrats would be smart to listen to him. But alas your reading comprehension is sadly lacking. :lol::2wave:

Seriously. Everyone wants other people's money; the question is what that money is used to fund. It can be used to help improve the quality of life for our citizens or help enrich those who are already wealthy.

Pretty much. I disagree with his politics but he is very good at uniting his party. The party would be stupid to not listen to him. But hey they can ignore him at their own peril. It’s OK with me. :lol:
