Latest WikiLeaks release[W:81]

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

Why did those on Hillary's payroll ask for immunity during the email scandal?

They asked? I read somewhere else that they'd been offered.

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

Be that as it may, that doesn't dismiss the truth that Assange has a personal agenda, potentially a strong one. And it wasn't getting Hillary elected, I can assure you of that. So even if all his leaks were technically accurate, who's to say what he picked and chose to release. It reminds me of the hacks of the DNC emails: The hackers had the ability to go after the RNC as well but chose not to. I wonder why that is?

Who controls what happens in this country? Assaunge or We The People? Russia or We The People? No matter what his or their intentions are we base what we do on what WE feel is right. As I've said time and time again... Nothing that they could have done or will do in the future would will have had any effect what so ever if those that are leaked on hadn't done something wrong to begin with. The truth always eventually comes out. If Assange hadn't done it someone else would have. Yet for some reason the messenger is the one being shot at instead of the ones actually doing the wrong.

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

Because people online have been sending death threats and harassment to people who embrass their heroes for a long time now. The person probably just didn't want to have to go into semi seclusion to avoid dealing with that.

Not officially anyway. But it's rather easy to whip up an impromptu mob online. Especially since so much of Wikileaks' fan base spends so much time online anyway.

Of course, by revealing exactly which documents are faked one also reveals their identity-- and therefore misses the whole point.

The main idea anyway was that despite being flagged as possibly fake Wikileaks decided to go ahead and publish anyway.

Oh yes, death threats online. About as effective as tits on a boar hog. Sorry, not buying this excuse. Particularly since Wikileaks has a policy of not revealing sources. The only way that such could be discerned is if Wikileaks violated their policy. And they're not going to do that for fear it may make others decide not to use them.

I've proven that Wikileaks could easily be posting altered information and nobody in their organization would have any inclining.

No, what you have proven is that some anonymous source made a claim but provided absolutely no proof to back up their assertion. If I claimed that I was a world renowned doctor would you believe me without any proof or knowing my name? Of course not. And I wouldn't blame you.

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

They asked? I read somewhere else that they'd been offered.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, told the Associated Press on Friday that Mills gave federal investigators access to her laptop on the condition that findings couldn't be used against her.

Hillary Clinton's former chief of staff was granted immunity by the FBI in exchange for cooperation in the email investigation

Two wrongs don't make a right. What if Assange had released documents that ISIS terrorists could use against us? And what about the likelihood of the Kremlin's directing WL to target Hillary and the DNC? Forget about for a moment what effects this had on the election: Why is this sort of behavior condoned in the first place?

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

Wikileaks has lost all credibility by now. Frankly speaking, they'd shown their true colors a long time ago. I'd take this with a great deal of skepticism.

Specify one thing they got wrong.

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

I guess that settles any questions on the current Russian hacking brouhaha. It's all horse crap being fed to us mushrooms. A much closer investigation here at home of our Intelligence Agencies would be more sensible. When they lie to our Congressional Representatives with impunity, it's a certain sign they have too much power and are not trustworthy.

Unless you beleive they were hacking the brains of Trump and his associates while they were meeting with and communicating to Russian agents, this has no bearing on the Trump/Russian collusion. We have them on tape, fool.

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

Horse hockey...
Wikileaks is Aussage, he is wanted for rape in Sweden, and the US Government wants him for leaking all the information they have. Wikileaks seems to have an axe to grind with the US.

Now how dull do you have to be to think the CIA hasn't thought to use their ability to mask sources to either send wikileaks intel on china or russia, orrr pretend to be wiki and leak documents?

You push all credibility to claim Wiki doesn't get russian dirt because they only read English... Just how do you know what the members of Wiki speak? I must have missed the published membership roster.

Since AOL chatrooms programs existed to change addresses, change content of emails, generally cause untold harm. Why the 'sudden' reveal of something cyber bullies were doing in the 80's?

Now I believe Russia has a history of attacking people with everything from photos to poison. But we are to believe Russia doesn't have the ability to fake emails,or Wiki for that matter???

This investigation will be interesting, but odd some are willing to give Russia and Wiki a free pass right out the gate... :peace

Emails Wikileaks has released have been verified to be real and true.
There is a way to do this, it's fairly easy to see.

Wikileaks releases information that is given to them, if no one is currently giving them information on Russia, but people are giving them information on the CIA's shenanigans, should they just sit on it to assuage your feelings?

Assange's rape case, if you bother to look, is full of interesting things, like the alleged victims not wanting him to be prosecuted.

Look at it this way. The basis of the fourth estate is to keep our government honest and the public informed. That happens to include reporting things that the government does wrong. How can the fourth estate do its job if the government hides everything? They can't. So it must rely on leaks. If the government always did things with honor then it wouldn't matter what was leaked. The People would still support the government 100% more than they are now at the least.

Oh no. They can't have anything on tape becauxe they deny eavesdropping. Are these Democrat tapes to which you refer or a figment of you imagination?

I agree with you here Kal'Stang. However, a bigger problem surfaces when the 4th Estate has proven itself to be far less than honest.

It is a very romantic and sentimental view that the basis(?) (role?) of the fourth estate is to keep our government honest and the public informed. The reality today is nowhere near that ideal. Maybe in Mencken's day, but not today.

Never was that reality demonstrated more clearly than with Scott Pelley's statement to the eye witness in San Bernardino. "But the authorities have told us..." Flying in the face of what he had just been told.

Assange and WikiLeaks are one of the few things that bring a little hope that truth will prevail. Hurrah for whistleblowers!

WikiLeaks says CIA disguised hacking as Russian activity* | Daily Mail Online

Interesting article. Many have said that the leaks before the election were from the inside. Blaming it on those ole nasty Rusky's is a way for the DNC to deflect from what was in those leaks. Now WIKI releases source code showing how the CIA can make computer intrusions (hacks) seem like they come from anywhere.

Computers are a wonderful thing but can really be a cloak to mischievous and nefarious happenings.

God it's amazing how quickly fake news passes through conservative hands.

The article does not say this. The article states that the CIA has a program called "Marble" which allows the CIA to hack into systems while mimicking the attack as originating from Russia, China, Iran, etc. That is the only thing we know, the rest you are pulling out of your ass. There is no evidence that the CIA hacked into the DNC as Russia. Yes, it is true that that's not impossible given this news, but did you stop to think for a moment why the CIA would help Donald Trump win an election when they hate Donald Trump? I mean, maybe, that's a "double-double fake," and the CIA secretly loves Trump and the CIA-vs-Trump is for show. But at the end of the day, that is all wild speculation.

Already did buddy. Perhaps you should spend a nominal amount of effort and locate the previous post where I laid it out.

Weird, it was only a few months ago when the left was saying that the intelligence apparatus, especially the FBI, were in the tank for Trump, and hence were sabotaging Hillary.

I was never on that bandwagon. I was skeptical of the Right when they said Hillary Clinton's emails were obviously criminal, I was just as skeptical when the Left asserted the Russians were behind the DNC and Podesta leaks. A healthy dose of skepticism is a good thing in politics.

You certainly got one aspect right.

It doesn't matter if you personally were or not. The Left was.

You said:

1.) A lot of Democrats are, yes.

2.) What does that quote have to do with Democrats?

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

Except of course that they have gone after other countries also. Including China and Russia. Simply go to their website and you'll find them. This narrative that they're singling out western democracies always falls flat on its face.

Because Putin kills your ass with a plutonium cocktail.

Would you please re-read my O.P. your argument is invalid.

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

It's unclear in that report whether the immunity was requested or offered. This report...

Ex-Hillary Clinton staffer, who set up email server, granted immunity by DOJ - CNNPolitics.com

Says this about it...

"Bryan Pagliano, a former Hillary Clinton staffer who helped set up her private email server, has accepted an immunity offer from the FBI and the Justice Department to provide an interview to investigators, a U.S. law enforcement official told CNN Wednesday."

'Course, there was a few people involved, might not be the same for everyone.
I don't have a dog in the fight, I'm against immunity deals on principle, but it does make a difference if the FBI offered the deal or if, like Flynn, immunity was requested.

Re: Latest WikiLeaks release

Actually, it does. Considering what positions a source holds is often the most important thing in evaluating the merits of a position.

Many liberals don't take that stance when it comes to anonymous sources from the MSM. They don't care where it comes from. Yet when wikileaks exposes liberals and the CIA, all of sudden sourcing matters. Liberalism is so bad that it can't be parodied anymore.
