LAPD DELIBERATELY shoots an Aussie Reporter with a rubber bullet

They don’t need to dress like they’re bombing Baghdad and roll into residential neighborhoods in what look like military vehicles, wearing what appears to be military gear - with their faces covered and not producing warrants but instead walking around carrying rifles.

I’m sorry you don’t grasp that.

THAT is the catalyst.

The actions that ICE and other federal agents have been taking - their dress, their vehicles, their increasingly heavy handed tactics - are the catalyst.

And it is ON PURPOSE.

Seems the rioters were dressed for the part. If rioters can cover their face, so can law enforcement.

Agree.

This time, it has been a purposeful escalation - on the part of the federal govt to start with in how they are conducting these ICE deportations and operations.

And then the LAPD was brought in and made things worse.

Now we have the federal government continuing the escalation by federally mobilizing the CANG.

Against the wishes of the governor who is out there saying, plainly, they are NOT properly prepared at this juncture to de-escalate this situation.

None of this has been necessary. Absolutely NONE.

It’s an intentional escalation. And people are getting hurt. Unnecessarily.
The LAPD is not responsible for the decisions of the Rioters any more than the Rioters are responsible for the decision of this cop to shoot this reporter with a rubber bullet. People are responsible for their own decisions.

If the left wants to play into Trump's hands and help him maintain greater public support on the immigration issue.... descending into fire and violence while waving foreign flags in a US city is a great way to do it. Make it a choice began authoritarianism and violent anarchy, and people will choose authoritarianism. :-/

Perhaps you can explain to the world what brutalizing and indiscriminately destroying the property of innocent people hast to do with your grievance against the federal government. The danger is not from the government - it’s from your friends who don’t care who they victimize.
'I have a great idea; I'll make a wildly exaggerated and hyperbole-drenched post. That'll show them libs!' :ROFLMAO:

Left-Wing: "Fascism"

Right-Wing: "But property"

Yeah. If Liberals refuse to enforce the laws and ensure order, people will eventually vote for fascists to do it.

Ah yes, the favourite mantra of the right; "personal responsibility". Pity your 'I don't take any responsibility' president hasn't learned that one.

It is indeed a pity; the country is worse- governed because of it.

Every time. Authoritarianism is predictable. Anarchists who would do anything to anyone for the lulz are not.

We're getting only a limited view of the scene.

Could the cop have been shooting at another threat near the reporter, but off camera? The cop raised his rifle, and fired quickly, which to my eyes seemed a reaction more appropriate to a quickly emerging threat.

I find it hard to believe the cop targeted the reporter. It makes no sense. To shoot an innocent reporter on live TV.
Isn’t this the same department that thrashed Rodney King?

Also LAPD:

Lotta bad apples?

They’re instigating, enticing and inciting reactions by the way they dress and act.

They EXPECT behavior because they’re purposefully creating a situation meant to entice and instigate negative reactions.

When rioters act and dress like rioters, law enforcement tends to show up.

Did you watch that video? The morons shot a firework at the horse and spooked it.
What was the reason for dragging the guy down by his ruck?
The fireworks come in after they have him on the pavement.
I know it’s low light and all…….

Why is the "reporter" standing in the middle of the road and impeding traffic? Is she unfamiliar with how roads work? Are things so different in Australia?
YES!

PUNISH HER!

punish her for standing there!

SHOOT HER!
SHOOT HER!
SHOOT HER!

Totally the correct response, yes?

What kind of reporter stands between protesters and police? Dumb shit of the year award goes to…

thugs gonna thug

thugs gonna cheer thugs thugging

you should bow out and let Americans handle this

You’re changing the subject. They didn’t intentionally stomp him with a horse. The morons shot a firework at the horse and spooked it. As for the pinhead, doesn’t look like he was obeying a lawful command if they had to use force to get him on the ground.

It is interesting to note how most people decrying this are not Los Angelenos, but instead right-wing outsiders who live far from these cities commenting on it. We have seen the same for cities like Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Minneapolis, and elsewhere during the Black Lives Matter Protests. The vast, vast, vast majority of people who live and work in these cities are not troubled and are certainly not asking for Trump to send in his Secret Police or the Military to help calm a situation he alone created.

When rioters act and dress like rioters, law enforcement tends to show up.
The protest was entirely peaceful until Trump's thugs in uniform showed up to provoke and intimidate peaceful protesters. Total overkill by what passes for an 'administration, and entirely unnecessary show of force. Right-wing armchair warriors who spend too much time in mum's basement, playing Call of Duty video games, are drooling over this.

Perhaps an American reporter would have more common sense.
Like what, not report on protests, or wear bullet proof armor? Since we're discussing "common sense", where was the sense in shooting at a reporter who was doing her job?

And it's happening to keep a ridiculous campaign promise, one that was built on insufficient knowledge of immigration law.

The only way to legally meet the quota of 3,000 a week would be to loosen the borders.

Edited: Oops - he said 3,000 a day. Even more ridiculous.
This entire escalation wouldn’t have occurred if this administration didn’t send in federal agents in military style vehicles and military style gear with their faces covered acting without warrants in hand.

The administration and federal agencies have PURPOSEFULLY escalated ICE activities to this level.

They are responsible for the outcomes of that escalation.

So these “Protesters” come prepared with fireworks and Molotov cocktails? Sounds more like pre-riot festivities.

One can report the news without standing in the line of fire. Common sense would dictate.
