LAPD DELIBERATELY shoots an Aussie Reporter with a rubber bullet

Apparently, we’re all hypocrites because we eat vegetables picked by illegal aliens. Maybe the vegetables should be raised hydroponically in a controlled setting, like they do in the Netherlands, where they can be raised with no soil using less pesticide and water but still produce higher crop yields. We may eventually be forced to do that, since many vegetables in the United States are grown in regions were water resources are coming under increased strain, such as the Imperial Valley of Southern California.

Someone will still have to pick, pack and care for those growing plants. Farmers won't attract American workers who will expect to be paid substantially more than their undocumented counterparts-and of course that extra labour cost would be passed on to you, the consumer.

So it's not Americans that need their hands held, that's what. Not in this case anyway.
Don't be silly. we're adults in Europe and the rest of the world and learned at a very early age how to cross a street safely. Of course we don't have to worry about moronic cops firing baton rounds at us either.

There is no WTF. Disagree with their reasons all you like, but they had a grievance with the government and they took it to the government. Unlike the lunatic anarchists in LA and elsewhere who pillage, rape, and murder indiscriminately when they have a beef with the government.
Like Timothy McVeigh.

Well she obviously didn't because she wasn't in a crosswalk and wasn't crossing it, but standing in it.

Yes, and while doing her job. I can stand in the middle of a street in England without getting arrested for the dreadful crime of crossing it in the 'wrong' place. How pathetic is that?

At the end, you see the ****ing worthless pig DELIBERATELY aim and fire.

Blame their boss, Karen Bass, who should be recalled for this. You should demand Bass resign immediately.

Lets not act as if everyone didn't see this coming from a long way away.

Oh look, the Stalinists beclown themselves again and blame Trump for the actions of Karen Bass and her LAPD.

Yep.

Piece of shit.

Are you calling for Karen Bass to resign, since her officers did this?

Are are you going with "BWAME TWUMP CUZ HATE HATE HATE HATE."

Yeah, the second one - explaining yet again why 4 out of 5 Americans agree, democrats suck.

I'll wait for the hit-piece about how she's a bad person, and journalists deserve to be shot, actually.

I'm not seeing the Comrades here demand that Karen Bass, who runs LAPD, be forced to resign?

Does that not fit into the psychopathic Trump hatred that defines the democrats?

We can automate the plants and have skilled workers do the oversight. If necessary, we can supplement our labor force with properly-vetted legal migrants. There is no shortage of people willing to come here to work. Also, I see no reason why we can’t continue to import vegetables from Mexico and South America. But the hydroponically-grown versions would appeal to the green, sustainable crowd, who already don’t mind paying more for organically-grown food. Regardless, advancing technology and limited resources are moving our nation in that direction. It’s inevitable. Like the Dutch, American farmers have shown themselves to be adaptable and resilient. In fact, agriculture in states such as Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin owes a lot to people of Dutch descent.

We can pay a living wage and American citizens will flock to these jobs.

Picking strawberries in a field manually is hard, backbreaking work. Paying people a “living wage” to do it in the United States when wages in foreign countries for similar work are a fraction of that wouldn’t be economical without barriers to entry such as tariffs or government subsidies. This assumes we could find people willing to do it. As our society advances technologically, it would make more sense to use robots for that purpose, where we could have a decided advantage.

It's also absurd, It can be done more efficiently by machines.

And I've picked plenty of strawberries - did it as a teen here in California.

Again, machines are the way to pick most crops. Especially strawberries

Yes, and while doing her job.
Cool. Nobody cares that she got paid to stand around and talk, just like the cops don't care that you were going to work while speeding. She can do it on the sidewalk and you can leave home 5 minutes earlier.
I can stand in the middle of a street in England
Then stay there and take this Aussie with you. Then you can both stand there together while leaving us alone.

I disagree. Mechanized agriculture leads to crops being bred and selected for their ability to withstand mechanical harvesting, storage or pesticides. This is why produce like tomatoes or common apples (red delicious, golden delicious) are so tasteless.

And why most roses nowadays smell like refrigerators.

As her job is not standing in the middle of the street, no one was preventing her from doing her job.

That's silly. Reporters do it all the time without getting shot.

They do have to watch out for cops though.

Cops don't care much for accountability.

Just like speeders speed all the time without getting ticketed, until they do.

Speeding is against the law.

Speeders aren't providing a public service by going out and reporting on events.

Speeding is against the law.
So is jaywalking.

How do you know? The speeder might be on his way to Harvard to cure cancer and bring about world peace for all you know. Should every speeder's anticipated lifetime contribution to humanity be analyzed and weighed before a ticket is issued?

Yes, jaywalking can get you shot. :D
