Ladies: Your thoughts on ordering in restaurants?

It doesnt really matter to me if I order for myself or someone else orders for me.... so long as they know what I want, go for it. But if im ordering something that Im going to special order all kinds of stuff, then ill just do it myself because its so much easier that way than relaying everything to him instead of just telling the waiter. My husband has ordered for me on occasion if he already knows what I want or we are getting the same thing, but most of the time I do it myself.

Well, since she's paying for it, she can order whatever the hell she wants and make the order herself.

You mean you guys let your dates eat???

j/k

Hmm, I don't see it as a big deal. If my partner/friends tell me what they want I will tell the waiter the whole order and if anything is missed out my partner/friend(s) will speak up to add anything that was missed. Other times someone else at the table orders everything, other times everything is ordered by the individual. I don't think it really matters. If someone does order for you (when you have expressed what you are having) then you can easily speak up if anything is missed or mistakenly ordered for you.

He likes to special order items through the drive-thru, too. No matter how many times I tell him that he's going to end up with a screwed up order (and no matter how many times I'm right) he insists on doing it every friggin' time.

Screwed up order > what they give the average Joe

Any guy who spends 6 hours shopping for clothes is insecure. That is the way it is. What guy would spend 6 hours in a mall? That's beyond anything I can conceive.

I'm wondering how much I'd have to be paid to spend 6 hours cloths shopping at a mall. I mean, no one has done anything that terrible to me since I agreed to go cloths shopping with my mother as a child.

Anyway, it's always been like this for me... she knows what I like and how I like it. If it's not a restaurant we've been before, then she probably knows something about it and the menu. Hopefully, she has recommendations, preferably first-hand knowledge. If she hasn't much of a clue, I'll read the menu and do it myself <grumble>.
