"To be honest, it’s not a wall,” Kelly told the Los Angeles Times.
“The president still says ‘wall’ — oftentimes frankly he’ll say ‘barrier’ or ‘fencing,’ now he’s tended toward steel slats," Kelly added. "But we left a solid concrete wall early on in the administration, when we asked people what they needed and where they needed it."
“It is a silly semantic argument because people who just want to say ‘wall, wall, wall’ want it to be a four-letter word and not respect what Customs and Border Patrol and ICE tell us they need, which is enhancements at the border,” Conway said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”
“There may be a wall at some places, there may be steel slats, there may be technological enhancements,” Conway said. “But always saying ‘wall’ or ‘no wall’ is being very disingenuous and turning a complete blind eye to what is a crisis at the border when it comes to the drugs pouring in.”
but the orange cult leader said that Mexico would pay for the wall.

See? No wall.
But steel slats...well, Americans can surely pay for that!
there's a tariff on steel. maybe we can make the slats out of milk.
The tariffs are only on foreign steel. Plus we're supposed to make stuff with 'Merican steel.
Oh, that's right. Domestic mills raised their prices after the tariffs...
With Trump, who really knows what he knew? At times he displays excellent political PR maneuvers. At other times in other matters, he seems dumb as a rock.Trump is building frustration over not being able to check off a campaign promise kept. Trump knew that the Great Wall Of Trump was never going to happen and surely knew that Mexico was not going to pay for it. He is now 110% in face saving mode and will accept any token symbol of increased border security as a wonderful 'deal' and will then tout that as an amazing, incredible and unprecedented accomplishment, let him tell you, as yet another Trump campaign promise was kept, in full and without compromise, and the resulting (minor additional) fencing is a great victory, the winningest in US history, for US border security. MAGA indeed.

That fact alone disqualifies him from getting his wall.
A montage of Trump claiming Mexico will pay for the wall (gets going at 1:50):

The fact that any increased border security is now considered "immoral" by the soon to be Speaker prevents him from fooling the public further.
Considering that's what he'll likely get (and it strikes me as reasonable).Trump knows the difference between a $25B Great Wall Of Trump and a $2.1B "down payment" that might be able to replace/extend some border fencing. The point is that he doesn't care and will gladly claim either as a great win for himself.
I fully agree. He's too vested in his wall, to make rational decisions. CF the shutdown.Did Pelosi say that "increased border security" is immoral? I sincerely doubt that.
In any case, Trump has done so much to disqualify himself from making such an important decision such as the wall that the only right thing to do at this point is to leave the decision to a future competent administration.

What is the Pelosi plan for securing the border? She has a wall around her own home yet that wall is not immoral in the least.
Considering that's what he'll likely get (and it strikes me as reasonable).
However, if he simply pushed for tighter border security with some addition physical structure (wall/fence) where required in problem areas, he'd have virtually everyone in the country behind him!
There's no need for drama or shutting-down the government at all. We're all behind him in this!
Nancy Pelosi's home doesn't have a wall. Why do you believe that her home has a wall?

You are correct - that was an internet hoax that popped up on a Google search.
