Trump: “My net worth fluctuates, and it goes up and down with markets and with attitudes and with feelings, even my own feelings, but I try.”

These idiots don't even know what to call the thing that they are trying to fund!!!!!!!!!! :lamo

Kelly unloads:

"To be honest, it’s not a wall,” Kelly told the Los Angeles Times.

“The president still says ‘wall’ — oftentimes frankly he’ll say ‘barrier’ or ‘fencing,’ now he’s tended toward steel slats," Kelly added. "But we left a solid concrete wall early on in the administration, when we asked people what they needed and where they needed it."

Kelly: ‘To be honest, it’s not a wall’

Kellyanne Responds:

“It is a silly semantic argument because people who just want to say ‘wall, wall, wall’ want it to be a four-letter word and not respect what Customs and Border Patrol and ICE tell us they need, which is enhancements at the border,” Conway said during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”

“There may be a wall at some places, there may be steel slats, there may be technological enhancements,” Conway said. “But always saying ‘wall’ or ‘no wall’ is being very disingenuous and turning a complete blind eye to what is a crisis at the border when it comes to the drugs pouring in.”

Conway: Border wall debate 'a silly semantic argument'

Seems to me, "the wall," just like the deal for funding for "the wall," and his net worth fluctuates and is based on his feelings on what people want. There's no concrete and no concrete plan.

Also it seems the administration is once again mocking their supporters who first came up with the build the wall slogan...which trump ran with.

Where do we send the bill? Pesos or greenbacks?

Semantics? The old “okey-doke!”

but the orange cult leader said that Mexico would pay for the wall.

See? No wall.

But steel slats...well, Americans can surely pay for that!

there's a tariff on steel. maybe we can make the slats out of milk.

The tariffs are only on foreign steel. Plus we're supposed to make stuff with 'Merican steel.

Oh, that's right. Domestic mills raised their prices after the tariffs...

Trump is building frustration over not being able to check off a campaign promise kept. Trump knew that the Great Wall Of Trump was never going to happen and surely knew that Mexico was not going to pay for it. He is now 110% in face saving mode and will accept any token symbol of increased border security as a wonderful 'deal' and will then tout that as an amazing, incredible and unprecedented accomplishment, let him tell you, as yet another Trump campaign promise was kept, in full and without compromise, and the resulting (minor additional) fencing is a great victory, the winningest in US history, for US border security. MAGA indeed.

With Trump, who really knows what he knew? At times he displays excellent political PR maneuvers. At other times in other matters, he seems dumb as a rock.

That fact alone disqualifies him from getting his wall.

A montage of Trump claiming Mexico will pay for the wall (gets going at 1:50):

Pelosi said “beaded curtain”, I’d say use these for the beads........

Trump knows the difference between a $25B Great Wall Of Trump and a $2.1B "down payment" that might be able to replace/extend some border fencing. The point is that he doesn't care and will gladly claim either as a great win for himself.

The fact that any increased border security is now considered "immoral" by the soon to be Speaker prevents him from fooling the public further.

Did Pelosi say that "increased border security" is immoral? I sincerely doubt that.

In any case, Trump has done so much to disqualify himself from making such an important decision such as the wall that the only right thing to do at this point is to leave the decision to a future competent administration.

Considering that's what he'll likely get (and it strikes me as reasonable).

However, if he simply pushed for tighter border security with some addition physical structure (wall/fence) where required in problem areas, he'd have virtually everyone in the country behind him!

There's no need for drama or shutting-down the government at all. We're all behind him in this!

Trump had different construction firms erect 8 prototype "walls" by the southern border near San Diego. Let's be clear. These were walls 30' high. Not fences, not chain link barriers, not military Hesco panels, these were walls. Precisely the sort of walls Donald Trump had in mind and pushed for incessantly on the campaign trail. It is also what is political base also envisioned. Trump had them trained like Pavlov's dogs;

Q: What are we going to build on the border? "A wall!"
Q: Who is going to pay for that beautiful wall? "Mexico!"

The majority of Americans don't want Trumps vision of a wall on our border. There is no bang for the buck because it doesn't work. An apt analogy is investing in landline phone technology here in the cellphone age. Probably the best compromise is a 10' chain link or slat fence topped with razor wire. This is supplemented with thousands of new border agents, lighting all along the border, motion sensors, tower mounted video and FLIR cameras, and drones . Also increased mobility (SUVs, helicopters, riverine boats, ATVs, motorcycles, horses, etc. Streamline the current 48 different southern border Ports of Entry. Earmark funding for the troubled nations in Central America.

Donald Trump would probably have been popular in the 1920's and 1930's. His MAGA views on isolationism, trade wars, bully diplomacy, no alliances, coal power, pollution, immigration, and maintaining the whiteness of America would have played well to an America of a bygone age. But that age is long gone. Trumps 72 years of age is showing and his policies are neither dynamic nor forward looking.

I fully agree. He's too vested in his wall, to make rational decisions. CF the shutdown.

What is the Pelosi plan for securing the border? She has a wall around her own home yet that wall is not immoral in the least.

Nancy Pelosi's home doesn't have a wall. Why do you believe that her home has a wall?

Only if they were assured that it would not be effective, could be "phased in" and done at a just pretend (low) cost. Let's face it - neither border security nor interior immigration law enforcement is a congressional priority or can be done without getting real about rounding up and deporting the 12M (to 20M?) illegal immigrants currently roaming freely among us. The last amnesty for 3M illegal immigrants simply rolled out the welcome mat for at least 4X that many more. "Taking action on illegal immigration" now involves congress critters allocating some additional token funding (typically borrowed) and moving on.

You are correct - that was an internet hoax that popped up on a Google search.
