Karen Read Trial - Take 2

Rentscheler's powerpoint excluded from jurors eyes. Early on today defense is losing a bunch of arguments by the judge
what was on the powerpoint that caused the exclusion?

What else are they losing on?

As expected, the defense wasn't successful in their latest motion for a finding of not guilty by the judge. They still have to make the arguments to preserve the record, which some people don't understand.

Yeah, I am a bit confused about where the prosecution actually proved anything.

Yeah, at the end there Brennan was saying his own expert basically knew nothing and had no opinions, so lol not sure what that's supposed to prove.

10 minutes of Dr. Laposata dismantling Brennan.

Breaking news, Lori Daybell just found guilty in her third trial for conspiring to commit murder. Thankfully this should be the end of the Daybell saga, now go spend the rest of your life prison.

Who is that? Did you have a link or an article?

I will give credit where credit is due. ASHES trial threads provide an opportunity for forum members to not only follow but to involve themselves in big trial events. Once a trial thread is started, she stays 100%
involved. This time it has been well over a month and its not over yet.

Entirely predictable. I stopped watching the first time she got tossed out of court. Creeps me out listening to her. Anyway, I'll talk about her more if there's a thread about it.

It's not a big deal. They'll have access to all the PowerPoint presentations they want during deliberations if they choose.

There won't be a thread, I thought I would just slip it in as a way to say adios to the child murderer. Its all I have to say about her. Now go and spend the rest of your life in prison.

You can start with, "I did it, I did it, I did it". Or watch some of the interviews Read did with 20/20, Dateline and Netflix. Her confessions were uploaded by the prosecution and viewed by the jury throughout the trial. Didn't you see them.

Who do you believe? They all contradict each other. Officer Sarif contradicts them all and says that didn't happen. And the story wasn't told anywhere in any report that day, or in any interview report, or at the first grand jury. It wasn't until the second grand jury that BS started, and ever since then, people like you uncritically believe and repeat it.

Who do you believe:

Flematti: says he heard it at the first trial. Didn't testify at the second. Contradicts Mcclaughlin and Sarif.

Nuttall: Also believed O'Keefe had a big puffy jacket and his memory is better today than 3 years ago. Testified he was there and heard it. Video and Mcclaughlin and Sarif contradicts him.

Mcclaughlin: contradicts Nuttall and Flematti, says they were in the ambulance with O'Keefe, which agrees with the video. Says Read said "I hit him" 4 times, which contradicts Jennifer McCabe. She also contradicts officer Sarif.

Jennifer McCabe: Says Read said "did I hit him, could I have hit him" until the second grand jury where she changes it to "I hit him" 3 times. Her story about who was there changed after the video. Her story still contradicts Mcclaughlin and Sarif.

Officer Sarif: was closer to Read at the time of the alleged confession than Jennifer McCabe or Katie Mcclaughlin, says he never heard Read say "I hit him I hit him I hit him"

The video captures the entirety of the time of the alleged confession, but it can never be heard, even though other things being shouted are distinguishable.

None of them wrote it down or told anybody anything about it until the second grand jury.

Every time you bring up the bullshit made up confession, I will repost these facts you omit.

Nowhere did she confess in those clips. If she did, you would post them.

I think its safe to say ASHES gives the ARCCA witnesses 5 gold stars, me not so much. In one of Read's TV clips she talks about pulling a piece of glass from O'Keefe's nose early that morning. Curious as to why Renscheler never mentioned the glass stuck in O'Keefe's nose during his testimony. On cross Brennan pressed him on the issue where he finally admitted he had heard about it from somewhere, trying to downplay the question. Bottom line most experts need to be taken with a grain of salt, they're hired guns, most lacking in any kind of morality. I give Rentscheler's testimony 1 gold star or a D-.

What grade would you give Mr 2 mph paint test that says there weren't x-rays? Or perhaps Mr faked his BS and lied on all his CVs and websites about his education?

Well, that is kind of my point, it wasn't proven she said that, everyone that testified she said that lied some where in that testimony, either lied or changed the testimony. They also had a witness that stated the words were different and in the form of a question.

I have done searches for the supposed confessions but I could not find anything. If you have those you can post them.

I'm here for the closing arguments today. I will not be transcribing the entirety of both, but I will try to convey main points, as well as correct any untruths certain to come from Brennan.

I dislike most closing arguments I have heard. the trial I was a jury member of boiled down to both sides whining about the other.

I really hope it's Brennan and not Lally giving the closing argument. Brennan and Jackson I can listen to, even if I disagree. They're good oraters. Lally is so boring and slow and just difficult for me to focus on anything he's saying for more than 5 minutes.

Live in court. Starting with a sidebah.

Still at sidebar. Brennan is arguing against a defense motion regarding the process of choosing alternates. Defense just wants transparency, not ipse dixit from the judge.

I could easily picture Jackson's closing taking 3 or 4 hours. 1 hour and 15 minutes must have thrown him for a major loop. If there was ever a person who loved to hear himself talk, its Jackson. The judge new exactly what she was doing when she placed limits on the closing. I'm thinking she must be sick of listening to these lawyers. If one was able to count the words spoken by the lawyers in both trials, it would be in the zillions. Defense attorneys are notorious for running they're mouths.

Here we go, judge asking them her 3 questions. They answered correctly, and then she tells them its the for closing, and that the closings aren't evidence so they need to put away their notebooks.
