Joni Ernst (R) of "We're all going to die" fame found a way to make it worse

Here is a lesson in trying to do damage control but actually making it worse.
We can only hope the people of Iowa vote her out of office in 2026.

I didn't believe this guy's post until I listened to the entire video. What an insulting idiot.

...But just minutes into the hour-long session in Butler County, Iowa, the tenor quickly shifted. The crowd grew tense and Ernst appeared flip and defensive.

Ernst was repeatedly peppered with questions about the thousand-page bill, with many attendees focusing on proposed cuts to safety net programs like Medicaid and SNAP. Ernst defended the bill, arguing that those eliminated from these programs would be people who were not eligible to benefit from them in the first place.

"When you're arguing about illegals that are receiving Medicaid benefits, 1.4 million (people) … they are not eligible so they will be coming off," Ernst said.

Someone in the crowd shouted in response: "People are going to die."

"Well, we all are going to die," Ernst responded. "For heaven's sakes, folks," she continued with a smile.

The crowd, which had already grown hostile to Ernst's tone, erupted in roars of disapproval....

How the hell was she not prepared for these questions, that she didn't have ready a response that doesn't insult Americans? And to follow her disdainful and flippant reply, she comes up with the sneer, "For heaven's sakes, folks"? What is wrong with today's Republicans that they don't give a damn about their constituents - and feel free to let voters know this?

Honestly? I think they rest secure in the knowledge that nothing they say or do, no matter how damaging to their own people, will ever get MAGAs to do anything more than mumble under their breath as they continue to remain docile and obedient to Donald and his DC sycophants.

"Sure it's bad, but if we resist transgender athletes will destroy the nation!"

And stupid as all get out, given she'll be up for re-election next year.

We can hear the TV and radio ads now....
"Friends, this past year has been incredibly difficult for me as I've faced horrible persecution on a scale not seen since the Jews in 1930s Germany. Radical leftist lunatics, disguised as my loyal constituents, have unleashed an unprecedented wave of satanic attacks on me and my family for stating the simple scientific fact that everybody dies, and expressing my deeply help religious belief that all should know my dear lord and savior so that they can face that death with joy. Won't you please offer me your thoughts, prayers, and esp. your vote?" Thank you, and god bless our beloved president!

She actually filmed that in a graveyard.

They think it does not matter since Republicans control the Government. They intend to rule over us.

If only that was all that they wanted to do. I would say that Republicans want to parasitize us. They want laugh to laugh at us while they drink our blood and the blood of our children, all while taxing us for the pleasure of watching them do so.

Ernst gave the impression that the only people who would lose coverage would be "illegals". She lied.

...Ernst said the only people who face getting booted are those who should not be on Medicaid in the first place.

“They’re not currently eligible by the original definition of Medicaid, and they will be moved off of those Medicaid rolls, again still allowing those that are truly eligible for Medicaid to remain on those rolls," the senator said.

She later claimed that 1.4 million undocumented immigrants are receiving Medicaid benefits. That figure, which the White House and other top Republicans have also cited, is based on a Congressional Budget Office analysis that said that one provision of the bill would cause 1.4 million people to lose coverage (including but not limited to those without verified immigration status).

"They are not eligible, so they will be coming off," Ernst said, which is when she was interrupted by the attendee who yelled, "People are going to die!"...
