I don't think it was racism, just prejudice and bigotry.
There's no point in making a stink about it though, I won't give them any of my money.
I'm free to choose.
This guy says so and I like it.
Jesus Christ please don't tell me that's Milton Friedmen..that is another discussion completely.
You cannot force people to keep their personal prejudices out of business either. All you do is keep personal prejudices in business hidden. My point is these type of statues make the people children and the state the parents which is damaging to the people.no, you can't force them to like each other, that's true. but you can force them to keep their personal prejudices out of business. at least, in theory.
The statute is incorrect. The state has no authority in this matter. It’s our human right to freedom of association, the right to pick and choose who we interact with and do business with.taxes don't, the law does.
Only in a libertarian paradise is that true. Here in America we opt for a civilized society. The statute is incorrect. The state has no authority in this matter. It’s our human right to freedom of association, the right to pick and choose who we interact with and do business with.

In part I concur; America has opted for the society over the individual while America was founded the other way around. It’s not a paradise and we as individuals use our natural right (freedom of association) everyday. We use it when we do not allow a Jehovah’s Witness into our homes. We use it when we go out when there is less people around. We use it when we tell our friends that we do not want to go out that night. We use it when we pick a place to eat dinner at, etc.Only in a libertarian paradise is that true. Here in America we opt for a civilized society.
Do your own research, Scoop Jackson. I'm not in the mood to teach Politics 101 at the moment.I'll tell you what, I want you and all the other libertarians on this thread to PM me "your" thoughts on a few topics:
-The gold standard
-federal reserve
-FDR
-social security
-war on drugs
-department of education
-department of agriculture
-any other department you may have an opinion on
-abortion
-immigration
-healthcare
-foreign policy
-war and military
-civil rights
and lastly why you voted for Ron Paul
Me and some buds went to eat at the Varsity in Atlanta late one night, it was closed so we went across the street to another restaurant.
They wouldn't serve us and the customers present were hostile.
And, of course, you were asking yourselves if you wanted to food prepared in a restaurant whose employees have expressed personal dislike for you.
Remember, Jesse Race Baiter Jackson admitted that he would spit in the salads of white folks when he worked in a restaurant in Chicago.

They were giving us the stink eye, worse than any other time in my life.
You have the freedom to allow anyone into you domicile or associate with anyone you wish. However your freedoms must be balanced with the freedoms of other peoples. Once you offer goods, services and housing you must offer them to everybody without prejudice otherwise you restrict their freedom. In part I concur; America has opted for the society over the individual while America was founded the other way around. It’s civilized to force people to interact? I find it more civil to allow people to make up their own minds about things. I call your civilized society, uncivilized and tyrannical.

I don't have a right to be on anyone else's private property.

If I decide I don't want to sell you a widget because you're black/latino/liberal/tall/smart/right-handed/mean/Irish, how has that "restricted your freedom"?
Freedom does not include the right to contract with anyone who you wish to contract with.
It's called discrimination, it's illegal, and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Are you against all discrimination?
