If there are no legal hurdles (which he now claims), then there are no legal hurdles.

He can't very well say, "oops, found a new problem" if the House subpoenas him.

Our job is to vote on what the House passed,not to conduct an open ended inquiry."

Republicans really, really don't want first hand testimony. So here's a question: which bull**** argument will Rubio pivot to if the House subpoena's Bolton, he testifies, and that's then made part of the impeachment articles? Will Rubio gladly consider Bolton's testimony then? If your answer is "yes, of course!" then you're an idiot.

Nobody who could have said Trump was innocent has been spoken to by the House. It's unfair to Trump obviously. So who will be the first to volunteer?

Mulvaney and Bolton had all this exculpatory evidence to share, and they weren't allowed to provide it to the House. For shame.

i doubt that Bolton is going to do anything damaging to the impeached peach now. after all, Tweety is trying to start a war with Iran, which probably gives Bolton priapism. if anything, i'd take this as Bolton wanting to insert himself into the process in order to help the mad king.

Look at it this way. When the Democratic House panel wanted Bolton to testify, Bolton refused, saying he needs a court to decide. Now he says if the Republican Senate subpoenas him, he will testify. Do you honestly believe his testimony is going to go the Democrat's way? Use your head man.

Key is he stated he would appear if the Senate subpoenaed him
If the House did so, he would appeal thru the courts, and from what I understand he left himself wiggle room in his statement.

Are they legally viable, nope, but still required to be heard in court

How it would cost him if he refused to appear before the House. Not much at all
