His proposal includes

1. A constitutional amendment affirming that the President is not above the law. And the President can be prosecuted.

2. Term limits on the Supreme Court Justices to 18 years and additionally the President will appoint new justice every two years.

3. Increased Code of Ethics which includes disclosing conflicts of interest and refraining from public political activity.

Biden doesn't even understand prosecuting a sitting POTUS without impeachment and removal weakens/chaos the executive branch
Or maybe he thinks a POTUS can not be prosecuted for other then official acts after his terms. Dems are looking to neuter the court as well

July 29 would like its headline back. Joe proposed this 4 months ago. No-one cares anymore what he thinks.

Lol...."Biden's" proposal.

Who's really coming up with this shit at this point?

I think that it might be too late.

Why don't we rewrite the constitution while we're at it.
Who would rewrite it?
We can't even discuss individual issues in a way to resolve them.
Perhaps 50 sovereign nations with a seat of government lacking any permanent residents, more or less centrally located, and an EU form of government would be a better solution?

The executive branch (whether under R or D) desperately needs to be neutered, but that is a question for another day.

Jump right on that amendment process....

Jump right on that amendment process....

Obviously not going to happen.

Essentially the overly restrictive amendment process does not allow for any meaningful change in today's polarized environment.

All three of those seem like good ideas to me. #2 is especially important. It would turn down the heat on each confirmation fight, and would avoid the problem of strategic retirements.

Too bad none of them will see the light of day anytime soon.

No...what it doesnt allow for is politically motivated legislation pushed by scumbag politicians. The Constitution and ultimately the scope of the government is deliberately narrow in focus. We have allowed (demanded) our politicians to **** up the government and in the process limit freedom.

They are good ideas, but are not feasible at this time.

I understand the sentiment, but disagree the problem rests solely on the executive branch. The [entrenched] R's & D's have turned us into an oligarchy. The swamp is filthier than just the executive.

Too bad Biden never followed a code of ethics.

Ben Sasse said it best, the Congress has shirked its duty for many, many decades. They have avoided the real debating that should happen in the people's house.

It's time to change that back to how it was intended.

Now he is calling for reforms and ethics for the Supreme Court? A bit late, where was this say... 3+ years ago?
