Jobs/Sectors we couldn't privatize

I thought I posted this already, but successful enterprises don't cut delivery days. Just doesn't happen.

And I replied to that giving several examples of how you were wrong there two. I gotta ask, do you enjoy being constantly wrong?

You're like the guys who say KBR was a big money maker for Halliburton. If that were true, Halliburton wouldn't have spun them off.

Seriously? You really must enjoy the taste of fail. KBR was immensely profitable. What KBR also brought was serious political and PR baggage. Halliburton spun them off to distance themselves from the political crossfire KBR was caught in.

There you go going all nerd on me again.

And, no. That's preposterous. You have no idea what you're talking about. If they're making money, they don't give a damn. YOu don't spin highly profitable companies off. If they did care, they'd have simply fired the big wigs?individuals who were caught in the crossfire.

The USPS is leaking billions. It has laid off over 15% of its workforce in the last few years. Don't kid yourself.

They've been operating cheaper and more efficiently than private equivalents for DECADES. They've only recently started to lose money, because people aren't sending as much mail anymore.

Well Kids, that's what you get for being stupid:

More fail from our banned member.

Sort of. USPS is losing money because people are shipping fewer larger packages and that associated revenue isn't enough to cover the pension obligations. There really isn't that much money in small mail. It's the big stuff that brings in the cash.

Take away legacy costs and USPS is doing pretty wells even with the downturn. A $404 million loss on $68 billion in sales is something many private firms would kill for. That's less then a 1% loss.
