Jesus was a socialist

So you're all for handing out free healthcare and free food like Jesus did? Good to know.

There was a reason for the free food. They were in a place far from villages, and it was almost evening.
Had they been nearby where food can be had, the verse suggests that most likely they would have been sent out to eat.
The verse suggests that........................ JESUS DID NOT FEED THEM AT EVERY RALLY!

Matthew 14
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand

13 When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place.
Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns.

14 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said,
“This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late.
Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”

16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”

So you're all for handing out free healthcare
:rolleyes:

They also raised the dead!

Performing miracles, was to show people that the disciples were from God.....that they were who they claim to be.
That's the purpose of healing, and all miracles performed: to show that they were indeed disciples of Jesus, and were from God!

Have you noticed.....only a few disciples were given that ability?

If "free healthcare" was the purpose of it -

Jesus would've turned EVERY CHRISTIAN INTO A HEALER AND SENT THEM OUT TO HEAL ALL SICK PEOPLE!

Yeah, I'm not sure at what point "blessed are the poor" ended up meaning that poverty is a moral failure and they and their whole family need to be left out on the street corner to die until they learn their lesson to just work harder.
Here's the problem. Leftwing leaders don't follow Jesus. Most don't even believe in Jesus. They do not care about the poor. The poor are just useful tools used by the leftwingers to cement their own power.
Jesus spoke of TRUE charity, using ONE'S OWN resources and time to assist the poor. Leftwingers merely throw other people's money at a wasteful government program. They don't lift a finger themselves to help the poor. They don't give of their own money. At one point, Joe Biden had only donated $150 in charitable donations, according to his taxes, despite becoming very wealthy in his off-the-books chicanery.

So I want to destroy the myth once and for all that leftwingers are about the poor.

Capitalism is greed and selfish interest based. So, I agree. Jesus would be against the core principles.
Actually capitalism allows everyone to flourish, whereas socialism keeps everyone down. The RCC's objection to capitalism is basically that it can be too much of a good thing if people allow it to be. In the same way a huge pile of money can ruin people. But popes including the great St. John Paul II have said capitalism is the better choice. He condemned socialism, having lived through it.

American Jesus was a gun toting hedge fund manager. Commie Jesus was that guy who said love thy neighbor and do unto others.

It would if everyone started at the same point and rich people couldn’t buy their kids spots at the head of the line.

Btw, the most successful capitalists are atheist. Elon, Jeff, Bill...none of them waste time believing in fairy tales about walk on water boy.

It is amazing to see the hate filled Christian right be all about Jesus and pray when at teh same time the people they hate are more Christian than they are.
Few leftwingers even believe in Jesus, let alone are "more Christian" than real Christians.

Right out of the Republican Party Platform:

" And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah: “This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other."
Zechariah 7:8-10

What about it?

Jesus wasn't interested in earthly government or politics. It's a common misconception for those who just see Jesus as a normal guy. It's also a common misconception that "love one another" and being charitable can only be accomplished through government and policies.

Who said only believers get a shot at becoming rich capitalists?
God allows things to happen, He lets things unfold.

Psalm 73

73 Truly God is good to Israel,
to those who are pure in heart.

2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled,
my steps had nearly slipped.
3 For I was envious of the arrogant
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For they have no pangs until death;
their bodies are fat and sleek.
5 They are not in trouble as others are;
they are not stricken like the rest of mankind.
6 Therefore pride is their necklace;
violence covers them as a garment.
7 Their eyes swell out through fatness;
their hearts overflow with follies.
8 They scoff and speak with malice;
loftily they threaten oppression.
9 They set their mouths against the heavens,
and their tongue struts through the earth.
10 Therefore his people turn back to them,
and find no fault in them.
11 And they say, “How can God know?
Is there knowledge in the Most High?”
12 Behold, these are the wicked;
always at ease, they increase in riches.

13 All in vain have I kept my heart clean
and washed my hands in innocence.
14 For all the day long I have been stricken
and rebuked every morning.
15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,”
I would have betrayed the generation of your children.

16 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,
17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I discerned their end.

18 Truly you set them in slippery places;
you make them fall to ruin.
19 How they are destroyed in a moment,
swept away utterly by terrors!
20 Like a dream when one awakes,
O Lord, when you rouse yourself, you despise them as phantoms.

21 When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in heart,
22 I was brutish and ignorant;
I was like a beast toward you.

23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

27 For behold, those who are far from you shall perish;
you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.
28 But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works.

Was jesus a socialist. Of course he was around before those politically theories were officially presented but did he operate that way essentially?

Btw....I hope you guys realize that when Jesus speaks about feeding the hungry....that can also mean giving them SPIRITUAL FOOD.

Jesus teaches that humanity’s greater need is for spiritual food. He explains in verse 27, “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.”
The crowd then asked Him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” (verse 28). Jesus brought the conversation back to faith: “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent” (verse 29). He then declared Himself to be the Bread of Life (verse 35).

He pointed the crowd to Himself, saying that physical food will only satisfy temporarily, but salvation through Him is forever.

Should we be feeding the hungry? Yes, “as it is written, ‘He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever’” (2 Corinthians 9:9; cf. Psalm 112:9). Jesus said that it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35). We should give people what they need, and as we meet the physical needs we must not ignore the spiritual need for the gospel. “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4; cf. Deuteronomy 8:3).
