Katie Couric is now Yahoos Global Anchor.....she brings us this special by One of Team BO's top players. DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson. Thoughts on what he is talking about?

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson warned Tuesday that the United States is entering a “new phase” of threats from terrorism, as the so-called Islamic State and other groups gain ground in the Middle East and spread their message online in increasingly sophisticated ways. “Today … the global terrorist threat is more decentralized, more complex, more diffuse,” Johnson said Tuesday in an exclusive interview with Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric. “And we now see very effective and slick use of the Internet and social media by groups such as ISIL [and] al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula.”

“Our domestic efforts are equally as important as our international efforts,” Johnson said. “We have to be aware of and vigilant about the independent actor who may choose to commit an act of mass violence inspired by ISIL. We’ve seen that now in other countries, and we have to be on guard for the same thing in this country.” Johnson said it is not possible to “know for sure” how many Americans have joined or attempted to join IS, but had earlier offered an estimate putting the number at about 100 people. He said the government needs to support a “counter-narrative” in the United States that pushes back against the notion that IS represents the Islamic faith.....snip~

"Do we need to wait for the smoking gun (evidence that Saddam Hussein has nuclear war heads and delivery systems) in the form of a mushroom cloud over a US city"?????

So what say you MMC. Is the Obama administration right, should we be scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaared, and throw the wrath of god at them with renewed shock and awe, or do we recognise the play, and call bull****?

Beeee aafrrraaaaaaid. Do not question the military-industrial complex.

Hi MMC...

Thanks for the article :)

This was just brilliant, we have to be on guard...ya think?

Nah Monte.....we don't need that. All that needs happen is for our people to get slaughtered somewhere. Do you think that will cause BO peep to be more scared than he already is?

Heya ML. :2wave: Glad to see you back around.

Yeah we do need to be aware. Moreso when any of BO's people are in charge of something. As they tend to be incompetent with most anything they touch.

You know what?

At this point, with all the bull**** and how politicized this war has become, I would damn well go shock and awe. The strategy so far is failing badly. Nothing will slow them and their buddies around the wold than the full force of a Navy battle squadron and some trans-globe precision bombing. I suspect it will will be a mop up/rebuild in under a year.

Beheadings? Here, let us introduce you to Abe, as in Abrams and some computerized killing.

What's the worst that can happen? You make some more terrorists, but likely at a slower rate than are being encouraged under Obama's war

That didn't answer the question. Is it time to be scared, god damn it, is it time for America to be scared, or is this just more partisan politics, which is it?

Well isn't that what BO's man is saying for all his own and Team BO? When have you heard any BO Bot talk about this threat being very serious?

Ok, so we don't need to be scared.

Ok, so we don't need to be scared.

Well which is it.....first team BO doesn't think much of these guys as terrorists or a threat. But now they think the threat has entered a new phase.

Is it a New Phase just because BO Peep has the hat?

Not sure where you're going with this, but I began by asking, like we were told we should fear Hussein because he could nuke an American city, do we too now need to fear the Islamic State?

Department of Homeland Security = Department of Paranoia

Well people were told to fear the British to.....but you know how that worked out.

Heya DA. :2wave: I was going with more like the Dept of Wasted Space, time and money. Even moreso now than under a Repub.

It's just more shuck and jive, more US government propaganda being used on US citizens. Alone it means nothing, but the US government wants its citizens to act in a specific manner for a specific reason. My guess is the military-industrial complex has determined they want more war - it's great for business - and the OP is simply an overt smear of war jizz slimed out on the masses, no singular purpose.

Jeh is a Nigerian name. Beyond that I'd be thrilled if the GOP would unfund Homeland Security.

Looks like our people have been busy.

Over the past two years, nearly 50 Americans have been charged with trying to join ISIS or are suspected of taking action inspired by the group.

Exactly a week ago, FBI agents arrested a Philadelphia woman for allegedly conspiring to provide material support to the group now so infamous for its brutal propaganda videos and the havoc it’s wreaking in war-torn Syria and Iraq. The day before, the FBI field office in New York announced it has arrested two ISIS-inspired women for plotting to detonate a bomb inside the United States.

The week before, two cousins -- one of them a current member of the Illinois National Guard -- were arrested in Chicago for allegedly trying to launch ISIS-inspired attacks in the U.S. and overseas. A week earlier, a U.S. Air Force veteran, 28-year-old Tairod Pugh of New Jersey, was indicted for his own ISIS-inspired plans. On his laptop, FBI agents allegedly discovered more than 180 jihadist propaganda videos.

In February, three New York City men were arrested on charges they allegedly conspired to join ISIS but also expressed willingness to carry out attacks on the terror group's behalf in the U.S.
