Janet Correa, the woman who went viral for singing the pro-Trump “Vote Trump” anthem at a MAGA rally, heartbroken after ICE snatched her husband

Admit it then. You have no interest in learning more about this case, the subject of the thread.
I did a search and found very little information regarding this case.
Some youtube, some facebook, etc. No major news source.

If you have a source, please provide a link.

What they are doing is dismissing asylum cases so they can be deported.

They are literally going after people who are trying to immigrate legally.

Exactly

DOJ instructs judges to dismiss cases, ICE is there waiting, makes an arrest right after.

Apparently they need to keep up their quotas, and can’t find enough of those dangerous criminals so they need to do what’s easiest, in order to try to make Stephen Miller happy and give them their talking points about dangerous criminals being removed.

Trump admin tells immigration judges to dismiss cases in tactic to speed up arrests

The judges, who work for the executive branch, have been instructed to grant dismissals quickly; ICE has been arresting people after their cases are dismissed.

A recent memo to immigration judges obtained by NBC News provides fresh insight into how the Trump administration is pulling off a new tactic — dismissing pending immigration cases, then immediately moving to arrest the immigrants — that is part of its bid to quickly increase the number of immigrants it is detaining.

In the memo, the Justice Department instructs immigration judges, who report to the executive branch and are not part of the independent judiciary, to allow Department of Homeland Security lawyers to make motions to dismiss orally and then move quickly to grant those dismissals, rather than allow immigrants the 10-day response time that had been typical.

The libs were screaming that all who may be subject to deportation receive due process. And when they do receive due process like Correa by an actual immigration judge they're still screaming. Simply being given an I-220A form by border guards saves no one from deportation.

You are being smug and happy about deporting people who are here legally and are actively working to follow the legal process.

You have never been "all for legal immigration," and the proof is right here.

I think that it is wild that they are deporting Cubans in South Florida.
I can't speak for the Cuban community in South Florida, but the ones here in northern NJ are probably not too dissimilar in views from those in southern Florida because many are second generation and are more established. Their interests are less about low wage jobs and more about protecting their homes and communities from crime etc. The I know here are also a bit taken aback by the shift to people they did not think would be targeted.

From a policy perspective the shift from just the criminal element to those they made into "criminals" by changing policy on the fly is the most insidious part.

The thread is personally not about me. Did you see my name in the O/P title?
I thought I read that you were for the illegal immigrant being given due process?
That's exactly what happened in Correa's case.

It was the Biden administration who handed out NTA documentation like candy to those who came into the country without permission. Janet Correa's husband was also given a NTA. This does not mean he would be granted legal permission to remain when given his due process before an immigration judge on the day he was ordered to appear. It means he goes back to the end of the line, and awaits his turn to apply for legal immigration just like everyone else. Depending on how long he has been in the country, his time waiting to apply for legal citizenship will vary. That is the law.

If that is all true, well, I must admit to ZERO sympathy for her plight.

Not as if Janet and others like her weren't aware of what KING MAGAT was capable of and had planned.

We warned them, but they nary a listened.

So many of these stories happening. It's amazing how many stupid people there are in this country.

People are stupid to believe that a NTA always gives them legal status to remain when they finally get their day in court. The man received due process in a court of law, represented by his own attorney before an immigration judge. Want to avoid the heartache that comes with what the Correas are obviously suffering, encourage others not to come over our borders illegally. Do it the right way.

LOL, good times!

Cuban woman laments in tears the arrest of her husband at Miami immigration court: "He only works like a mule."

The man, who has no criminal record, was arrested on Thursday after attending a routine appointment in his immigration process.

"He only works like a mule."

Yes, and you only VOTED like a jackass for a FOOL!

There is a deeper plan here: revoking the Cubans' humanitarian parole, then dismissing the case and "expedited deportation" when they try to adjust their status. This looks like a sneak attack on someone who had some reason to think she was married to someone with a legal right to be in the U.S.

I suppose they'll prosecute her if she tries to go visit him in Cuba?

P.S. If you think this is FAFO wait until all the elderly Republicans with monthly Social Security payments of one ten-billionth of a Bitcoin are lamenting that it costs .1 Bitcoin to import a Chinese dose of the vaccine for the new Covid strain.

Cubans are among Republicans long term support in Florida, usually they are exceptions to immigration crack downs for obvious humanitarian reasons. What you are seeing is them being discarded now that they have served their purpose.

This woman is surprised because the deal as she saw it was that Trump was out to get only people she didn't like.

I am interested in the assumption that ICE does no wrong as you seem to have presumed.

Reportedly, Janet is now singing this song:

Blaming this on ICE seems pretty far-fetched. I mean, NIH can't even fund the research its scientists approved, but ICE is going to ... what? Tell Trump he's wrong and they'll decide on their own? Announce they were all wrong, very wrong, for ever seeking to impose immigration laws that have been on the books all this time? Give up their jobs?

A Cuban is now back in Cuba. Before we lament how undemocratic that regime is, we should recall that 2026 is a new year and we'll see which country gets rated for having greater freedom then. It's by all accounts a pretty island with unspoiled beaches, free health care, and cars you can fix yourself. If you'd like to propose that Congress get up and say no wait, WE should have the right to decide which countries' citizens can stay here, well, that would be interesting.

Asylum requests are a legal entry. Do you not understand this?
